SOURCE: AR says 'insert game cart', when a game is already inserted...

I have this problem too and I am trying to find a better way to fix this, but here's a simple solution so far:

1. Put in your AR and go the the code menu for you game.
2. Select any codes you want to use.
3. Take out the AR and insert the game.
4. Press the START icon that should now be showing.

NOTE: If the game being played is reset or you used Soft Reset the codes turn off.

SOURCE: when i put my action replay in my dsi it says there is no game.

it must be because the game cartridge is dirty. It happened with me too. First, try to blow out the dust in the action replay and the yellow data part of the game cartridge. Then if that doesn't work when you plug it in, try to wet it. Use rubbing alchohol with a tissue or an alcohol swab and rub the yellow data part of the game cartridge. It's ok, it won't get destroyed. Since data streams can be cleaned without the use of water and using alchohol cleans it. I used it on my Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll and it was dirty because I didn't use it for a long time. Then, I wiped with an alchohol swab. After that, I put it in my Action Replay and it went to the codes already.

My dsi action replay won't work on my dsi but it works on my ds. Why is that?

I heard that the DSi prevents the AR from working because of a kind of security system.

After you insert the AR device and turn on the system, you'll see the "Insert Game Cart" message blipping across the screen. From there you have to remove the AR device while your system is on and replace it with your desired DS game cartridge and then the "Start/GO" button will appear, fully functional and ready to operate.

Don't even bother trying to get the Code Manager to smarten up, just add and edit your desired codes manually from there on. After all newer software on the dsi when compared to the ds so datel may have to make a new AR for the dsi or.... ur AR may be bust as datel's build quality is not the best. So try the AR on older ds's if it works thn new sofware prevents it so you may have to buy a specific AR or if it dosnt work on a old ds thn u know u got a knackered up AR device.

What is wrong with my dsi it says there is nothing inserted in the game card slot when i have my action replay in the slot and my game in my ar slot.i need help what do i do i have tried everything

Make sure that you have a DSi compatible Action Replay. If you do you may wish to return it because it sounds like your card is malfunctioning.

When i insert any game into my action replay dsi, all the codes show up but before i start it says to insert my game card

This is easy I THINK. I do have some experience with the Action Replay DSi. I thin kyou need to take out the action replay, and put in the game in the dsi gameslot, not the Action replay one.

My action replay wont be recognized!

make sure your usb cord is plugged in to your DSi AR and computer. **do not have the AR plugged in to the DSi.
then put the AR's CD ROM in.
you go to start menu.
type in device manager.
right click Dsi AR...
click the driver tab.
click update driver.
click browse computer.
then check the box [subfolders].
BROWSE.
find DSi CD ROM folder.
and voila! :D
it should work

My ar says please insert Game cartridge before continuing but it is inserted. But it is a new game called Heart gold so i updated the system but it still says that.

if its an old action replay it might not work, if you have the action replay DSI it will, the older ones don't like new games, i have an old ar for ds but i put pokemon soulsilver it and it said the same thing to me, so i went to EB and bought the AR for DSi. and it worked fine

Two things: the dsi action replay will not stay inserted into the dsi consistently; when it does stay inserted and i want to switch back to a game (without the action replay), then the dsi doesn't...

  1. Action Replay Not Staying Inserted:
    • The issue with the Action Replay not staying inserted into the DSi may be due to a loose or damaged cartridge slot on the DSi or an issue with the Action Replay cartridge itself.
    • Check the Action Replay cartridge for any visible damage, including bent pins or connectors. If you find any, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
    • Try inserting other game cartridges into your DSi to see if they fit securely. If other cartridges also don't stay in place, it could indicate a problem with the DSi's cartridge slot.
  2. DSi Not Recognizing Game Cartridge:
    • If your DSi doesn't recognize that there's a game in the slot, this could be related to the Action Replay cartridge, or it could be a more general issue with the DSi.
    • Test this issue with regular game cartridges that are known to work. If the DSi still doesn't recognize them, there may be a problem with the cartridge slot.
    • If other game cartridges work fine, the issue may be specific to the Action Replay. In this case, you should contact the manufacturer or distributor for support or a replacement.
In either case, if the problem persists, you may want to consider having your DSi and Action Replay inspected or repaired by a professional technician, or contact Nintendo's customer support for further assistance. Make sure to follow their guidance and ensure that your DSi and accessories are in good working condition.
