I may have accidently hit the button under the on/off button when I turned on the computer and now the monitor has no signal. How do I reset
SOURCE: brand new motherboard wont start up
Few things to check first:
a/ Are both power connectors from PSU to motherboard connected?
b/ Ise the PSU connected to the GPU?
c/ Have you tried monitor connector in both of the GPU ports on back of the tower?
Maybe those're daft questions but it's easier to start with the simple solutions :o)

If you are getting no beeps then this would usually indicate the motherboard is fried. If you have a test video card that you can put into the machine I would try that and seeing if you get a signal then. If you still don't get anything and you want to look at getting it fixed I would take it someplace to have at least a diagnostic run on it. Some places will do a test of the video card for you at no cost.
SOURCE: Computer will not boot up.
remove all external devices. except the memories.
turn on the PC.
it if comes on insert each of the external device one at a time, till you come across the one that is causing the problem.
if it doesn't come on, remove the memories. and swap the memories. if it still doesn't come on, remove the memories. and see if the BIOS come sup. if it doesn't, then you have motherboard problem.
go back and check all connections. make sure the connectors are in right orientation and not pins are missing.
SOURCE: step up

Hmm, Interesting. I have an HP Pavillion AMD-Athlon Dual-Core, 64-bit, TK-55... Running at 1800 Mhz. with no probs.
Suggest: When you first start up your Puter, hit the "F" key that takes you to the "Setup Mode" (Before Windows begins to start). [ a bit hard for me to check now since I'm using my system to write this, sorry.] You'll hve to read kind of quik to see which it is before it fades and windows starts.
Anyways, Once you're there, navigate through the various menus and selections WITHOUT MAKING ANY CHANGES.
You'll find the area for the "Processor" and "Thermal Shutdown" related selections. You can change them from there.
BEST RECOMMENDATION!!!!!: Set to "DEFAULT"!
REMEMBER: Don't Place your Laptop Computer on ANY Surface that Prohibits Air-Flow to the Underside of your Computer! (ie. Blankets, Pillows, Etc.)
A "Laptop" is just that, NOT a "Blanket or Pillow" top device! Your Laptop Computer CANNOT get AIR through it's Vents on the Bottom of the Unit when it's placed on a blanket or pillw or other surfaces of the like!!
