I recently purchased a new M-Audio Audiophile 192 sound card but I cannot get it to work, I don't hear anything coming from my speakers (M-Audio AV40s), which I know are working because I tested them...

This could be that the Onboard Sound Card is turn on in the Basic Input Output Settings, these control wich devices start and run when you computer is first turned on. Commonly known as the BIOS there very often is a setting in there for the sound to come from the onboard sound card or the one installed seperately. You must access this setting when you first sstart your computer, and switch it to disable onboard sound.

Can i hook a sub woofer up to m-audio av40s

odwalxo, you can't add a subwoofer because the only output you have on those m audio speakers is for the "other speaker of the set via regular speaker wires". Everything else it's just inputs.

PC wont boot after using two motherboards and two cpu's.

In my experience if I cannot get a computer to boot after I have gone to the trouble of changeing out the board and CPU ,with known good ones, I suspect either something is shorting the board and I try it outside of the case or more likely the power supply is not preforming correctly.    A third possibility, though unlikely if it was running before,is that something is not hooked up properly.
