Bryant FA4ANF04200 Operation is intermittent. Some of the time it will go on when set to heat or cool. Other times, it will not turn on. Replaced thermostat. Problem continues. Sounds like defective relay but where is it located?

Is this a heatpump system or a gas furnace /a/c system, you have a 3 1/2 ton a/c unit,if it is over 5 yrs old it could be a board problem, look for any spliced wiring where they used little wire nuts to join wires, these can make bad connections,?does the blower turn on,is the outside unit running but no airflow,if you have a gas furnace it may have a window,a little clear lens to look in at the furnace control board,it will blink a failure code if there is a problem, need more info :)

SOURCE: Defective Thermostat?

well this is a very subjective question. How mechanically adept are you. If you know where to find the replacement OEM part, then its a mater of taking the control panel apart and replacing the wires one at a time from the old thermostat to the new one. It will have a sensor probe that will need to be routed and attached to the coil somewhere. The same place as the old one. make sure the bulb (if it has one) is not damaged. This may go without saying, but make sure the power is off first.

SOURCE: axu heat and outside blower fan run all the time

I can tell you exaclty whats wrong . and it sounds like multipart problems. you have an old RUUD heat pump and its reversing vavle is stuck. without that valve opening it will contantly try to run in refrigerant mode to make heat. and here its 26 degrees, het pumps are only made to be effiient in over 34 degrees and that why your electric heaters in the blower section in an in a closit of unit
continously running up you eectric bill big time. cuses for the reversing valve to stick are sitting along time when it was low on refrigernt. or ust plain shut depending on its age. that cicking is the relay trying to open or close the reversing valve swict to make pressure again. any local guy an fix that one. theyre are kits called hard start kits that they hook up to them that shoot an extra zap of jiuse in it to try to free it up if its not totally lockd up being though that you still hear the relays pulling in and out thats good you may have just caught it in time.

now here is a quick test and possible cure but only if you what your doing turn both units off take off the top cover of the old rudd and get a small hammer not a sledgehammer and rap and tap all around the reversing valve. it will be a cylindrical tube black usually have sets of copper or brass tubings going in the 2 sides of this so dont hit itthat hard it gets dents it and is ruined. look for oil spots which uually means the refrigerant leaked out , and its seized up for good. they try spinning around the big out door fan door fan some. you may have to rock it back and forth Till it braks lose but dont put super human efort int it,

than put it all bak together making sure you connected wires back up right. go in and have you wife eithe watch it or you do it and switch the breker on and off about 8 times to trying to get the cnnectors switches to stay in and if your brave take a well insulated screw driver and hold them in for 2-4 miuntes to force it to work. if that doesnt do it call your local repairman and tell him you need a hard startkit only much safer, the cost about 40$ but you labor will be high if he is sent alone so may you can help im out and lessen your bill if the valve cant be made to work again. you may want start looking for prices with that model and serial number and d shut that electric heater off some one to replace it . I hope I helped you out some no charge ( I dont have my Pay Pal acct. set up yet ) good luck tom.

SOURCE: Bryant Legacy Line air conditioning not blowing cool air..

Your outdoor condenser is in heat mode. Check the wires on the thermostat. Sounds like a small wiring problem and nothing else. Good luck. Please keep me posted as to you progress.

SOURCE: I have a Bryant 661CJ030-E. While in cooling mode

Refrigerants are regulated by the EPA. In order to purchase it, you need an EPA License. If you are low on refrigerant, the leak needs to be found and repaired. This requires special tools.

Additionally, with the information given, it could be an electrical problem. Is the outside fan running, is the compressor running? Your best bet is to call a professional.

We are having an issue with our furnace. It reaches temperature, clicks off, clicks back on, clicks off. It happens intermittently. We can't tell if the problem in with the furnace or the thermostat.

An intermittent problem can take patience and time. Process of elimination too. If you are unfamiliar with servicing and repairing a gas furnace, you may want to leave that chore to a professional. Now, what exactly is coming back on after the set temp is reached? Blower only or is it firing the furnace also. My experience says it's just the blower. This is caused by... Furnace overheating, then shutting down, then bringing blower on to cool it down. Probably not your scenario. It's possible the control board is acting up. Highly possible that you have a high temp limit with a loose connection, or needs to be replaced. Schematic will call it HS or LS, something like that and it should have 2-6 of em. Possible that the G wire from the t-stat is shorting to R, and bringing the fan on. Try posting more info? Model & serial number. Fan cycling or furnace? Have you checked new t-stat installer configuration? Hope this helps! And work safe

I have a Bryant gas furnace model 394GAZ036125. After a heating cycle, blower motor shuts off, then cycles 2 times for approximately 2 seconds each cycle. What could be wrong ?

It's probably something going on with the limits. If the limits open, the control board assumes the unit has overheated, and brings on the blower to cool it down. Check all limit connections. As well as the connections on the board. Limits are the least expensive so you are right in changing them first, and there should be more than 1/ see schematic. If not the limits then it may be the control board but in 15-16 yrs I've not seen that. Might try(safely), wiggling the control wires at each limit, or tapping them with the end of a plastic handle, and trying to simulate a fault. Hope this helps!

Furnace switches to auxiliary heat while in cool

It's likely a bad tstat. Turn the power off to your air handler. Remove red , green, yellow and orange wires inside the tstat and wire nut them together. Not sure if your reversing valve energizes in heating or cooling but, turn the power back on. If the unit is heating turn the power off and remove just the orange wire and turn power back on. Let this run and see if it you are ONLY getting cool air ALL the time. If so you have a bad stat. If still getting heat possibly you have a bad control board in the air handler. Good Luck!!

I am trouble shooting a Bryant Hi-bred system that uses an air cooled heat pump with high efficiency gas furnace for backup and low ambient operation. How does the system decide whether to use the air...

Your t-stat should be set up so that the furnace is the second stage heat and also emergency heat. First stage (heat Pump comes on) sometimes they use Time to start 2nd stage, sometimes they use outdoor temp and this all bepends how bryant has set it up, without a model # I cannot tell you but send it and i will look in somebooks i have to tell you.

Thermostat wiring

W is normally for heating and Y is normally for cooling. You must be misreading the literature. If Y and W are jumpered you would have heat and cool at the same time. R terminal is normally the power to the thermostat, Y is to the cooling at the heat pump A/C terminal board. G is for the indoor fan operation at the air handler or furnace. W is for heating and with a heat pump you may have a w2 terminal. W1 would be for the first stage or primary heat. W2 would be for the secondary or backup heat be it furnace or electric.
