compressors that do not go past 50 psi generally have a failed poppet valve or reed valve in the heads of the compressor
talk with a compressor repair shop for the filters and housings and where you can get the valves and gaskets
Make sure all air is bled from the system and the injector is firing a fine spray of fuel, add a tea spoon of oil to the cylinder to increase compression, a spray of diesel starting fluid sprayed into the air cleaner, housing with the filter removed may help.
If your filter is dirty, the fan inside the house cannot push the cold air thru the evaporator, cool air cannot circulate, this will cause the compressor outside to over heat and even damage it and possible trip some fuses or circuit breakers, with these hotter days you want to change out your filters more often, changing out your filters more often will keep the evaporator cleaner and allow the cool air to flow, easier.good luck!
need more info. Have you cleaned the air cleaner recently? That can really slow them down. so can a cylinder wearing out. If the air cleaner is clean then if I had it in my shop I would do a leakdown test to see how well the cylinder is holding air.
I bet its the filter. I am hoping so for your sake.
Six cylinder: The air cleaner element is inside the air cleaner housing on the left side of the engine compartment. (It has a large hose connected to it). To replace it: Disconnect the hose from the air cleaner housing cover with flat-tipped screwdriver. Loosen the four bolts, and remove the air cleaner housing cover. Remove the old air cleaner element. Carefully clean the inside of the air cleaner housing with a damp rag. Place the new air cleaner element in the air cleaner housing. Reinstall the air cleaner housing cover, and tighten the four bolts. Connect the hose to the air cleaner housing cover with a flat-tipped screwdriver.
I'm assuming you mean inside of your air cleaner you either need to clean air cleaner housing replace air filter and PCV valve and or PCV breather filter hose, PCV system or your engine has excessive blowby and is worn internally.
Hi, came across your post on 10-26. U need to loosen hose clamps, remove air cleaner housing bolts, then lift out filter. Clean inside housing before putting new filter in. If u need more info let me know.
