Acer aspire 9410, cannot connect to the internet using dial-up

You have two different devices here. A modem and a wireless network adapter. Two totally different devices. It sounds like the modem quit working but the wireless network adapter still functions. I'm assuming that the modem is built it. If you absolutely have to have it you could buy a PCMCIA modem if your laptop has a PCMCIA slot to plug it into. You could also have a corrupted modem driver.

No inmternet access

Could be a simple driver glitch. Try uninstalling the modem driver, then reboot. The machine will find the modem and reinstall the driver automatically. Then try removing and reinstalling the software you use for the dial up connection.

It wont connect

if you have reset the router for any reason, you must have the incorrect settings eg PPOA PPOE or you have not entered the correct password and username. It is also possible that your broadband connection to your isp server is down. On the other hand if you have installed this modem/router in place of a dial up modem or a broadband modem, your modem is still trying to connect, which needs to be dissabled as when you use a router you do not have to click connect unless you are in the routers settings as you are always on line, unlike a dial modem, so you should have uninstalled the modem driver. If you have just installed the router you need to open up internet explorer>tools>internet options>connections and choose never dial a connection, unless its all greyed out, in whicj case you need to go back into the router and check the settings.
