Need a part number

The part number for the door handle on this model dishwasher is either:

W10142998 (STAINLESS)
W10142999 (BLACK)
W10143000 (WHITE)

The handle is listed as item 14 under the "Door and Panel Parts" section at searspartsdirect.com. The part numbers are based on the color, so make sure you use the correct number to get the matching handle for your dishwasher. The kit inlcudes all the mounting hardware as well.

You can check these others sites as well to compare prices:

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Dishwasher mdc4650aww door latch very hard to open, replacement part

If the door latch mechanism is the only problem, (Meaning: although the door may be hard to open, it otherwise still works) you may only need to replace the latch and handle. The part number is 99003347 for the latch, and W10130694 for the handle. You can view a complete illustrated parts list at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancepartspros.com
appliancepartspros.com

Just enter the model number you provided and locate items 3 and 5 under the "Control Panel" heading. If the switch itself is damaged, the part number is 99002751 and is listed as item 4.

To replace the latch, all you have to do is follow these steps:

1. Turn off the main power to the dishwasher. Dangerous voltage is still present inside even with the unit turned off.

2. Open the door and loosen the screws on the inner door panel that hold the operator console in place. NOTE: You may have to loosen some of the lower panel screws as well to accommodate getting the control panel free.

3. With the screws removed, you should be able to remove the control panel and access the door latch and handle.

If you have any questions about this repair, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

AEG 250 operating manual

hi friend,
step 1
Remove any large food deposits from the dishes to prevent damaging the dishwasher.
  • Step 2 Load the upper rack of the dishwasher with smaller items, such as glasses, cups and cookware lids. The items must be inserted face down, with the soiled side of each item facing toward the bottom of the dishwasher. Some dishwasher models feature clips, which can be used to secure lightweight items to the tines of the upper rack. The clips work like clothesline pins, and can be moved from one tine to another.
  • Step 3 Load the lower rack of the dishwasher with heavier items, such as plates, bowls and pans. Insert the items between the tines of the rack with the soiled side of each item facing toward the center of the dishwasher.
  • Step 4 Load the silverware basket. The silverware should be inserted into the basket with some items facing up and some facing down to ensure the items do not fit together, which would prevent the dishwasher from being able to clean all surfaces. Knives should be inserted blade down, so they can be inserted and removed from the dishwasher with the handle to avoid injury.
  • Step 5 Add detergent to the dishwasher, and then close the dishwasher's door. Note that the dishwasher has two detergent sections. One dispenser, called the main wash section, has a lid. Open the main wash section's lid by pressing down on the cover latch located next to the section. Fill the main wash section with 3 tbsp. of automatic dishwasher powdered detergent, then close the lid until it snaps into place. The other detergent section is the prewash section. It does not have a lid, because the detergent within the section empties into the dishwasher when the door is closed. Fill the prewash section with 2 tbsp. of automatic dishwasher powdered detergent. Close the dishwasher's door until it clicks into place.
  • Step 6 Prime the dishwasher by turning the kitchen sink's faucet on until it produces hot water. This will ensure the dishwasher has an immediate supply of hot water.
  • Step 7 Start the dishwasher by choosing and pressing the appropriate wash-cycle button, located on the front of the dishwasher's door. Cycle selections include "POTS --N- PANS," "HEAVY" for heavily soiled items, "NORMAL" for standard washing, "CRYSTAL/CHINA" for delicate items, "LOW ENERGY" for lightly soiled items and "RINSE ONLY" for items that will not be washed immediately.

I have a Maytag MDB6600AWW that is giving me a fit. It only works when it wants and the door is hard to operate as the handle isn't connected correctly anymore.

It could be your lid switch.

If the door handle is brocken the lid switch is not making contact properly.

Handle is broken.. how to replace?

This is not a difficult repair. If the model number you have this listed under is correct, all you should have to do is follow these steps:

    1. Turn off the power breaker, or unplug the dishwasher.

    2. Open the dishwasher door and locate the screws around the perimeter of the inner door panel. These are torx, size T-2, I believe. Remove the screws directly behind the control panel and only loosen the remaining ones. This will enable you to remove only the control panel without having to remove the entire front panel facing.

    3. If only the handle is broken, all you have to do is remove the the screws holding the latch assembly in place and lift out of the way. The door handle should lift out from the rear and a new one can easily be inserted.

    4. If the latch assembly is broken, I would recommend replacing the small switches that plug into the latch assembly as well. They typically break when attempting to unplug the wires from the terminals, because they are so fragile.

Appliancepartspros.com has all the parts you need, along with some excellent exploded view diagrams you can use for reference. The parts that I am talking about are items 3, 4, and 5 under the "Control Panel" heading.

Item 3 is the Door Handle
Item 4 is the Door Switch
Item 5 is the Latch Assembly

Here are some more sites you may also try for cost comparison:

    searspartsdirect.com
    pcappliancerepair.com
    repairclinic.com

If you have questions about this repair, or if the model number is not correct, please post back with your complete model number so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance. I hope you find this information helpful.
