Hello Friends! I just started a job at a health clinic and am new to telephones. From what I can tell in the cabinet- we have a XTS phone system with 8 port VM. There are 11 trunks used with 19 available lines I'm told ranging from Ext 100-135. I have been reading all the posts on this site-which have been so helpful-such smart guys! I have run into some problems though. First, As the System Administrator and Voice Mail Administrator- I will need to call in remotely and make changes to Voice prompts and scheduling. All calls are routed to (1) of (3) Auto Attendant Voice Prompts- based on Time of Day and Day of Week. Here is my PROBLEM... from what I've read, (* #) are the default keys to activate the voice mail system when calling remotely. However, whenever I press these keys, in either order from any of the (3) prompts, I either get sent to reception or general mailbox. WHY? How can that be changed? Second, is there any way I can know for sure what system we have? As I said- I just saw the system with XTS on it and we have Vodavi 24 button phones. I took a picture of the phone system though-anyone I could send it to? Thanks so much ANY help would be appreciated.... endogirl.
SOURCE: extensions
I depends on what cards are represented on the punchdown. If there are extensions all ready working on the puchdown, the card is programmed correctly. Some cards only service 12 extensions (SLIB) and some will do 24 (DTIB).

You can also:
while on the call
press your voicemail button
press the dss button for the extension you wish to get, or dial the extension #
SOURCE: Incoming calls bypass greeting - no way to dial extentions
