SOURCE: Which way round does the battery go in a Polar FS1

Battry must go - (minus) into the movement and +(plus) facing up. As battery replacement must be done with watch upside down, you must see the +(plus) on battery when it is inserted into the movement and the fit the contact over it.

SOURCE: cleaning polar s725 watch/hrm

"Gunk" is definately not good in any watch. If it got in there because your watch is not properly sealed then you would need to clean it out and get it properly sealed up again. Proper lubrication is necessary, but "gunk" should not be in there.

Polar AXN300 Heart Rate Monitor Watch HRM AXN300 is not showing pulse

I would think it is the sensor circuit in the watch. When you replaced the battery did you activate the processor all reset for the watch? I do not know on your model where or how this would be activated.

Electronic watches normally have a reset procedure for when the battery is changed. Very important the watch's processor reset is performed after changing the battery. This is not any of the user readings reset. This is a reset for the watch's processor and system. It is sometimes a contact that has to be shorted out with the jeweler's screwdriver, or it is a contact that has to be shunted, or etc., depending on the model. Maybe if you call the support for the watch they will tell you this. Normally they do not like the user opening the watch.

The watch monitors heart beat for about 2 minutes then it goes back to time

This is an old post - is it still a problem? If so, what is the model number of the watch?

How do I change the battery?

Someone posted a link on how to change the batter on an F11. If it's not longer under warranty or you just don't want to bother with sending it back and the extra costs, you could follow this: http://timlaqua.com/2008/09/how-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-polar-f11-heart-rate-monitor-hrm/

Polar F6 HRM keeps losing signal

I would go back to the dealer and have him exchange the watch.

There is not much inside of these watches that is servicable.

If it is not the watch that is defective, maybe there is bad reception for the the conditions where you are using the watch???

Triax CV10

Nike Triax CV10 - Successful HRM reset 7 November 2008

I had real problems too. Even after repeatedly following the known reset steps everyone else is posting up. Here’s how I got mine going, please forgive the mind bogglingly tedious detail…

First make sure you’re using new good quality batteries. I used Maxell’s, bought in 10’s from Hong Kong on ebay – no problem.

Second, and this is the ESSENTIAL bit…move right away from the computer and any other electromagnetic sources before carrying out the known reset…

Third, follow the known reset steps below, adjusted to what worked for me…

If you press all four buttons of your Nike HRM it will reset. Next time you go to "RUN" mode, it will show "HRM LINK" error. You will now need to "hard reset" the unit.

Nike made a late change to add a "hard reset" to the chest strap. To re-link (re-initialise) the watch you'll need to open the battery door on the chest strap, and use a paper clip (or the equivalent) to push the small gold button in the battery area. There should be a small sticker in the battery compartment that points to the reset button.

The re-initialisation steps for the Nike C10 and CV10 digital HRM's is:

(1) reset the watch
(2) open the battery door on the chest strap
(3) move the watch to RUN mode
(4) press the reset button in the chest strap battery area without removing the battery

Tip - I agree with the suggestion to use a pin or needle and definitely do it with the battery in the hrm.
Tip – Thumb holds battery to stop it from pinging out, other hand performs jiggle with pin until the link is made (it links straightaway if you jiggle it just right!)

(5) replace chest strap battery cover…and smile!
