It somehow got listed in Dutch. And i need to get it into english so i can understand wtf is going on. No answers on manual help!
I had the same problem. So I will try to guide you by button push method (because I didn't understand anything in Dutch that said on the panel). If you look at the polar main wrist watch (easy to say) you will see 5 button. 2 of left and 3 on right. 2 left are top -backlight (21) bottom - back or exit from menu (22). The 3 right buttons are top - scroll up (31), middle - menu (32) and bottom -scroll down (33). Now we know the button number here we go.
Hold 22 for 3 sec. You will see current time showing up. Press 33 once -- Setting ---> press 32 once ---> watch time and date ---> press 33 three time ----> general setting shows up ----> press 32 once ----> button sound shows up ---> press 33 twice ---> language shows up --->press 32 once ----> language blinks ----> press 33 or 31 till you see english or your language of choice ---->press 32 once ----> language is set ---->press 22 for 3 sec and you are back to the watch menu. Hope that helps. This will guide you even if you don't understand anything from the language.

that advice was perfect! I had to figure out what your numbers first meant, so I drew a diagram of the watch with the numbers you suggested. Followed the directions and it worked perfectly! THANK YOU!!!
your welcome. First it took me some time to figure it out myself. Polar should have a default factory setting to english some where but till then ...
Thank you so much for posting this advice it was exactly what i needed and information that i couldnt find any where else , Thanks again.
Thank you, thank you thank you. It worked like a charm.
Also works on the FT7. Thanks, good posting. Could not find the answer anywhere else.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Thank you so much! Best instructions I've received! This needs to be placed on the instructions that comes with the watch.

My Polar FT4 was on Dutch language when I took it out of the box so I couldn't interpret screens to follow the directions to set anything. I simply opened the battery compartment of the watch and allowed it to power down for 10 seconds....closed it back up. When it lit up it had defaulted to ENGLISH!! Then I could follow directions to set up profile components!!
SOURCE: Battery in a Polar F7 heart rate monitor
Hello
You can change the battery in your polar f7 if the battery is worn out.
1. Insert the tip of a pen knife into the lifting point and lifting the back up. The back of the watch is only pressed into place and will come off easily this way.
2. Grab the small clip that is extending across the surface of the battery with a pair of tweezers. Slide the tweezers toward the end that hooks down into the watch. Pull the hook end of the clip out of the watch and remove the clip from the battery
3. Match the old battery with a new one at any electronic store. The store will be able to read the writing imprinted on the battery to make sure that you get the correct battery type for your heart monitor.
4. Press the new battery into the watch making sure that the writing on the battery is facing up.
5. Press the holding clip back into place. Handle the clip with tweezers only, since it is very thin and can be bent or lost easily. Once it is in place, press the back of the watch on.
GOODLUCK
