We were having problems with the ice maker not making ice. We solved that by adding a better pressure hose, and new motor. Then the water ran over the holding tank and dripped inside of the freezer. Now neither the frig or freezer will stay cold, and the over temperature button goes off. I can hear the start relay clicking every few minutes, and there is a slight hum to the frig. Can this be fixed or do I need a new frig. I do not know how old it is because we just moved into the house.

You can start by trying to replacethe overload relay mounted to the side of the compressor. $75 is alot better the $1400

KitchenAid Superba KSRG25FK Side by Side-where is the arm of the ice maker?

Hello ksraine,

I understand that you are looking for the arm on your ice maker. I believe you are talking about the ice makers that have the little wire arm that goes up and down as it makes ice to know when to stop making ice. The ice maker that you currently have installed on you side-by-side does not have the wire arm. Here is a picture of a complete ice maker that is factory installed on your unit -justinbur167.jpg Thank you for choosing FixYa.com

Icemaker not making ice

Fill the ice maker with a cup of water manually. If it doesnt make ice the next day then replace the ice maker. if it does replace the solenoid after you have check that you have water going to the valve (good hard pressure) and the tube behind the frig that feed the water to the icemaker is not blocked with frozen water.

Ice maker will not make ice. Red light blinks

I have a kitchenaid with the same problem. Red light blinks twice when open is normal. Hold the flap down and the red light will be on.= normal= optics are working. If the ice rakes rotate, module is probably fine. Check the simplest solutions first, defrost the freezer in case the icemaker water nozzel might be frozen. That solved my problem. I then increased my freezer temp by a couple of degrees and so far, no problems.
Good luck.

My ice maker isn't making ice

the way the ice maker sits in the front of the freezer I personally think is not a good design.nice but not good.most every k.a. superba that had problem with icemaker that i have checked had a bad ice maker.replace the icemaker.but you may want to check all tubing connections from water valve to icemaker and make sure no break in line.most likely it is the ice maker.that ice maker is not a cheep one.good luck.

Ice maker will not dispense the ice

The auger motor and coupling in the rear may be frozen and won't turn.
Remove the ice bin.
Place a screwdriver or similar device in the forks of the auger and twist counterclockwise till it moves. The replace the ice bin and try again.
It will be difficult to move.
If that does not work. Turn off the fridge and use a hair dryer to hrat the auger gear and motor till it frees up.

Ice maker

By manually moving the ejector blades you have now broken the ice maker module. (The brain and the motor of the icemaker). Kitchenaid had a batch of thermostats that arent working properly in these Indoor ice makers. I reccommend getting an entire new IDIM icemaker. You will have the improved module whith stronger gears (however you still cannot manually move them) and the improved thermostat.

If you pop the front cover off the ice maker you will find a screw with a plus and minus on it. Adjust it and that will cut the water fill down and should solve the overfill problem. If the ice is not dumping spray the tray with Pam and that should solve the dump problem.
