360's top right fan is not working how do i fix it

Lesson learned here. No pets on game systems! Even pet hair getting sucked in by the fan can destroy them. Unfortunately the mainboard probably got wet from some sort of bodily fluid from the animal. This will need to be sent to a repair shop. There is no promise that it can be repaired. JBGAMING.COM is a good repair source.

This is called Red Ring of Death or RROD by the community, it means that the CPU or GPU or both have a bad solder joint, that is caused from rapid heating and cooling from poor cooling design of the xbox 360. To fix it is pretty simple. Follow these instructions to take apart your 360: http://www.rrodfix.com/how-to-take-apart-the-microsoft-xbox-360-game-console.html Stop once you've removed the dvd drive. Now Remove the fans from the back, and set them on the heatsink on the right the flat one, and make sure they are pointing where the air is going up. Put a peice of of carboard or plastic something non conductive in between the heatsinks to prevent airflow from the fans. Turn on the 360, and leave it til it goes from 3 rings to 2 rings, wait 3 minutes, then switch the fan over to the other side. Wait about as long as you did for the other one then turn off the 360. Wait 1 hour for the 360 to cool off. DO NOT move the 360 while it is cooling down durning this period or you will permantly ruin it, the solder is being reflowed. After an hour, put the fans back, and turn the 360 on, it should work. Once its working, I recommend doing a 12 volt mod on the fans to prevent RROD from happening again, and changing out the thermal paste with artic silver 5.

This is usually a problem with your fans and there are a few ways to make it work i suggest going here and following this video tutorial to fix it. If you feel uncomfortable doing this I'd gladly fix it for you

its simply overheated just take a wet cloth place on top of xbox and wrap the power supply in a wet cloth too (not soaking wet moist) Hope this Helps@!@

look i never really herd of somthing like this but i can just try to help take a cloth and wipethe console from the top there are some holes on the top you cant clean so take a fan and aim it up ther for a few seccond hopfelly it will work.

You can take a butter knife and put it in the top -in- of the 360 CD door and move it left to right while tapping the open button but you can always use something other than a butter knife..

This worked for original xbox and it should work for the 360.

REPLACE THE FAN THAN SHOULD BE FINE BUT IF THE FAN WORKS AND SHOWING THE RED RING OF DEATH YOU XBOX IS F******

I would recommend sending this back to microsoft if you can. If you can't for some reason. Ebay has many sellers who will fix 3 lights of death for much cheaper that MS will.

there are two things that those light mean.
-the best solution is to VACCUM the dust out of the xbox before you get other problems. The collecting dust is making ur xbox overheat. So keep it clean before you get the 3 or 4 rings of death!
-also, take off that cooling system because the 360 works best without cooling fan.
-Finally, make sure your A/V cables are securely plugged in.
