Take the nut off the swing arm pin and hit with a large hammer, be sure not to damage the pin's thread. Screwing the nut on until flush with the end of the pin can help protect the thread, and perhaps strike a hammer onto a piece of wood to protect the pin.

Are motorcyles usually this cantankerous? Now the chain came off. I put it back on, but need to know how to take out the slack so it can be driven safely to town (30 miles) to get a new rear tire.

Loosen the bolt on the rear axle after removing the cotter pin holding the bolt in place. Adjust the chain tension by rotating the adjuster cams on the left and right side of the wheel. See diagram below. Set the two adjusters evenly to keep the wheel inline on the swingarm. Retighten the axle nut and put the cotter pin back in place. Have the parts department look at the rear sprocket. Chances are the sprocket is worn out also. If it is, the front sprocket will be worn out also. Worn out sprockets will cause your new chain to wear out quickly. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Hobart A-200 Motor Direction

No, do not swap hot and N.

First, verify rotation. As the attachment shaft rotates, it should push the engagement pin into the keeper slot. Looking down on top of the mixer, the planetary should rotate clockwise.

If the unit runs backwards, does it start slow? Can you get it to run either way by giving it a push start before turning on the power? If so, your start switch is not working properly. (Which is my guess) Check your capacitor.

There is mechanical and electronic start switches. (Metal arms and a contact or a little gold rectangular metal can.)

Check it out and let me know what you find -- Mike
