The light source for the front Vaio emblem is an LED, the LED is being supplied voltage but does not light. So it is definatly a bad LED the question now is What is the replacement part No. for a new LED. Is there a wiring diagram for this computer ?

Obviously the question was not answered correctly. I don't know how well you are versed into taking things apart, but here we go. First you need to unplug Sony. You need to remove the I/O panel on the bottom of the case after removing the front panel. Remove the on/off switch and remove the two lights adjacent to it. You gently pry apart the tabs on the back of the bulbs and pull the lights out from the back out of retainer. Do the same with the light that is burned out. Carefully cut or break the two cable ties and remove complete wiring harness. You need to remove the side Panel (right side looking from the front). Remove the air tunnel pieces (2 of them), The cable that needs to be unplugged from the motherboard. it is the very first along top edge from the left. It is yellow. Open the 2 tabs that hold all wiring down the front (you will see these just in front of CPU fan and behind front grill. Remove the harness. I do have the number in front of me but you can take the harness to Radio Shack and they can give you the correct one. Cut the old bulb off as close as possible. Solder the new one on and reverse the steps to reinstall. Once harness is plugged back onto motherboard, you can test by plugging power cord in and pushing power button. Make sure none of the wires are touching each other or any metal. Put it all back together and you will have blue light (light is not blue, plastic in front of it is). OR you can just use it without that light as it serves no purpose to be pretty and no one but you will know the difference. By the way I refurbish, repair, etc. nothing but Sony PCs. You also may be able to find a replacement harness but they are scarce. Hope this help. OH, the power supply or motherboard has nothing to do with this bulb working or not. If the other two (power on and hard drive activity) work, the bulb only, is bad.

SOURCE: sony vaio vgc rb52 no sound ... speakers work

Hello there... Check your PC's volume. You may or someone in your household has accidentally muted it. Unmute it or increase its volume (if you can't find the audio icon in the taskbar, proceed to the control panel - it's there), it maybe too low. Hope this helps... Ai :)

Need the motherboard layout for this board out of viao vgc-rc110g

You will find as with Dell that the motherboard etc is all custom & you cant upgrade it yourself, you have to go through Sony. I am not 100% on that but that has been the case with many branded PCs i have seen.

Can you not open the case? This usually voids the warranty but if you were intending to replace parts then it would likely be voided anyway.

Thanks

Monitor reads no signal...

its not mobo...since it power up and you see the light indicator are processing ..to be sure ..when you turn on the pc..does the light for HDD is processing like blinking green/blue..if does..try to connect your monitor to other computer..if your monitor works..thats good..

if your video card is built in to mother board..the cause is one of the pin of the port is disconnected..you cannot fix this..but you can replace the video card by installing it to one of the expansion slot inside the computer...check what kind of interface for video card slot inside the computer (PCI, AGP,PCI express)..then buy that and install it. its plug and play

good luck

As soon as I turn the power switch on--my Viao VGC-RB53 immediately shuts all power off--like a breaker switch.

I think you have a bad power supply, its pretty easy to change out and they are less than sixty dollars for a 450 watts power supply
