Can not connect to email service.

There is no email program associated to perform this requested action. Please install an email program or if one is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel. I have tried this but do not know what to associate it with. Do you have a checklist to perform this action?

Hello and welcome to FixYa,

This is because you dont have MS Office installed on your computer or if you do have MS Office the files are not associated with opening with Office.

PPS stands for PowerPoint SlideShow or can be found as PPT (PowerPoint Template) or PPTX for early versions of Office 2007 and 2010.

Please install either Microsoft Office (needs to be bought) on your computer or (if you only need to view this file) install PowerPoint Viewer 2007 or 2010 (free to download HERE).

If this is a problem directly related to Hotmail inbox or the specific email please check your email settings in hotmail or gmail account for filetypes.

Also do regular powerpoint or ms office files open if you download them from the attachments in the email?

Regards from FixYa.

Thanks.

try to download Registry because your programs are not associated with your registry. If you had installed registry mechanic try to run the program and repair your PC.

Can't open .pdf file email attachments from Windows Mail (Vista)

Send yourself another known working PDF attachment and see if the same thing happens. If it does, post back. If not, then it most likely means there's either a naming issue with the problem PDF, or it is just corrupt enough to give you troubles when opening from email.

Need to set an association to open a file

The first thing that you have to find out is what type of file is it. Normally if the file is not associated with any program on the computer then that means that the program is not installed. To find out the type of program that it is you can go to the link below then check the file extention. The file extention by the way is the letters after the period in the filename. EX. hello.DOC the capital letters is the file extention
