That means it is working!!! If you have your mp3 on at the same time charging it is working on recharging it. All you have to do now is download stuff to it!!!
i have the same problem with mine. i just bought it. what i do is just simply hit the "reset" button at the back, and it starts working again. also, if u actually sync songs onto the mp3, it doesnt give that error message for some reason.... the problem i'm having with mine though is that it isnt fully charging no matter how long i leave it plugged in
I have an Emerson 2gb MP3 player model EMP 312-2, not sure if this info is for you or not. Make sure you are in the MUSIC MODE, when you use the menu button to go from music mode, voice mode, settings etc. you must push menu button again when the mode you want is hi-lited. I had a similar problem. Files were loaded (my music is on my harddrive already so I just copy to mp3 player) but when I turned player on it said no files. AHA, I finally realized I had somehow got into the voice mode and I did not have any voice files, so it said no files. I then went to Folder Mode and it only said micin.dir and it was empty, THAT WAS BECAUSE I WAS IN VOICE MODE, when I switched to music mode, they were all there. I know this sounds very rudimentary, but I am pretty computer literate and had no idea how I switched to voice mode. Before I figured this out for myself I called Emerson customer service, they said it was bad firmware and send it back. If someone there had walked me through what I just told you it would have saved me a lot of time. Hope this helps.
