SOURCE: breville ESP8XL Espresso Machine Cafe Roma leaking.. help please..

We had that happen and it was a crack in the black ring that holds the filter. Breville could not supply us with one but we found an OEM part in aluminum from http://www.vancouverwireedm.com/caferomadiyt.htm. We received it 1 week after ordering. It was pretty easy to replace. Our machine works fine now.

have you tried to use the sharp pin and try to dislodge coffee grind from the filter cup? You will need to remove it from the filter holder to gain access.

Breville Cafe Roma ESP8XL - cup is moving during the process

GET A NEW MACHINE. i just bought one used for $25. the previous owner said it had been sitting in his basement for over a year, and that he used it only maybe ten times (WHY, I WONDER?). it was not cleaned before being stored. let me preface my comments by stating that i have used a saeco-made starbucks barista machine for about 9 months now, and this one was supposed to be a backup. here are the things that i have issue with about this machine: 1) re: the thumping sound during steaming: the pump inside the machine is poorly mounted; it has a metal bar around it which, i believe (from examining the guts of the machine) has scarred an adjacent plastic piece from repeated impact, while causing the thumping sound everyone hears. one can feel the vibration on the outside of the machine by placing a finger or hand anywhere on it's surface. the cause: poor quality pump and poor manufacturing.
2) and in support of "poor manufacturing" theory: if you hold up the metal coffee filter basket to the light, you can easily see the hole. yes, coffee comes thru ONLY ONE HOLE in the filter basket. there are a score of other "holes" that you CANNOT see light thru-these are FALSE HOLES. comparing to an espresso maker that costs twice as much, every hole seen in the filter basket is in actuality a hole (light can be seen through each). clearly, the breville basket lacks a crucial/vital step in its finishing: the last step of drilling out each individual hole (instead of drilling only one).
to review: i spent $25 on this POS. how much did you spend? no wonder cust. service doesn't help!

Water leaking out of the tank

Hi,

i think you have to replace the gasket where the water tank fits, it´s very tight there, you have to take off the bottom from the machine then you will see two screw, loosen this.

Now can you put down your hand in the hole and take of the plastic above the gasket.

Hope this will help you.
