Cracked lcd screen

Your lcd screen is cracked and the only repair that you can do is replace the screen. This is not easy to do and usually not cost effective, assuming an exact replacement screen can even be found.
Sell the tv for parts on ebay or craigslist.

if your whole screen shows an image and the cracks are in front of it then its just a cracked digitiser
if you dont see the whole image and tyou see horizontal and vertical line or an image like spilled liquid then your Lcd is also cracked too

NOT worth fixing as the entire front screen unit is called a display panel and the cost of the part (not counting major labor to replace it) exceeds the cost of a new set.

Sorry, but panels are rather fragile and this is fatal.

The set is finished- sets like this use a display panel- it is the entire front screen unit and a sealed unit at that.

Cost of the entire panel unit even if available will cost more than the set did when new ( not counting labor to remove and replace it).

Buy a new set and note all LCD and Plasma like sets have this issue as the display panel is very fragile.

If there is picture in the TV then probably it is the protective screen that has cracked and not the picture tube.Please check carefully.

It is broken,The outside is a Polorised film.Like window tint,It is repairable,New LCD screen.But may be cheeper to buy a new TV. GET A EXT.WARENTY!!! will not cover accidents but the new tv's do break alot,and are expensive to repair.
Buy a name brand, NOT RCA "junk" Just a name
no longer a company. Samsung,Panasonic,Sony. If you want to support the USA buy another Sharp. Still a great TV. And made in America. NOTE they make after market screen protectors. GOT KIDS? GET ONE. :) Or even a piece of plexie glass if cash is tight. Hope this helps.

It is likely that a circuit board might have cracked in the fall and/or a chip might have cracked. LCD's are more fragile than conventional CRT's.

The front glass is just a protector for the LCD screen. If your TV turns on and the picture looks ok (may be a little color variation around the crack if front glass is pushing on it, variation OK black Bad) If the picture looks within the range described then replace the glass. It is just a piece of standard glass and a pretty easy diy job. If the LCD screen is broken the repair will be more than the replacement cost. Sad fact US TV repairmen make a living wage while the workers that assembled you TV wouldn't be able to buy lunch here with what they made putting it together.

Phillips LCD TV 17PF8946/37, has no picture at all on the screen, even menu and channel #s not showing in the screen. The screen just have blue color. Everything is working like switch & video. Please let me know what parts need to be replaced and where can I order the parts.

Screen may have a hair line crack in it causing projection to be distorted. Inspect screen very closly with magnifying glass if necessary to insure no cracks. If crack is found replace screen.
