SOURCE: D-link DI-624 wireless router connectivity problems (DNS suffix)

Might I suggest that you reset the router to its default configuration by pressing and holding the reset button until it reboots. This way you will be dealing with the default configuration. Then try to use it. Remember the default login ID is admin and the password is Password or admin. Lets hope this helps

SOURCE: After replacing Cable Modem, D-Link DI-524 Wireless will not work

Did you call Comcast and give them the new MAC address of the Motorola SB5101 SURFboard cable modem? I'm surpised it works at all without doing this first. This is the hardware address of your modem so the world can see you, no one in the world has the same MAC address, they are all different. It's on a sticker on the modem.

How do I get the IP address for my Samsung smart Tv. I dont have a instruction manual

hi Deanna.
this is all i could find out from the internet.
If your TV is connected to internet, press the Menu button on your remote device and select the Network option. Select the Network Settings and then, select IP settings option. The existing IP address of your TV appears. It will be a private IP address if you are using router to connect to your ISP..
or go to this link and see if it helps you out.

I cannot load to my epcc.mylabsplus.com

I could & I arrived here "Welcome to Pearson MyLabsPlus", which is a gateway to "El Paso college". (IP address 159.182.164.119). Normally I'd just give you the url using the IP address but it wont work as its a secured link.

My guess is that either your browser is damaged (by malware which is redirecting you though an alternate gateway which doesn't have the DNS record) or your ISP's dns simply doesn't know this URL.

24162751-wxpaklkqiapao3rwyzi1syb2-4-0.jpg Does the same thing happen if you use a different browser like Chrome for instance?

Try to reset internet explorer.

To reset Internet Explorer settings
  1. Close all Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.
  2. Reopen Internet Explorer.
  3. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet options.
  4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset. ...
  5. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
Network faults
Temporarily change your DNS settings.

  1. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.
  2. Right-click the connection that you want to change, and then click Properties. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Click the Networking tab. Under This connection uses the following items, click either Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), and then click Properties.

24162751-wxpaklkqiapao3rwyzi1syb2-4-2.jpg 4.Now look at the bottom of the screen you will see preferred DNS press the "Use the following DNS server address" and in the first preferred enter 8.8.8.8 and the second enter 8.8.4.4

This is the IP address of the Google DNS servers which will replace your ISP's one. I have tested Google and it knows your El Paso college gateway IP.

Once you have done that OK it and either do a START>RUN>CMD>ipconfig /renew
or reboot the computer.

Try this fix and if it works you can safely leave the settings as is. It wont make any difference to you normal browsing. If not just re access the settings and click the obtain DNS server automatically.

Had to get a new router now my roku says my network is not shown

Sir,

The quick fix: make sure your router's DNS settings are properly set to an External IP address. If DNS1 or DNS2 show up as internal IPs such as: 192.168.1.x, then your Roku won't connect to the Internet.

Here is the detailed fix:

  • Login to your router. (typically this is done through an internal ip address like 192.168.1.100). You enter this IP address directly into your web browser same as you would a website. **NOTE some people actually enter web addresses into Google, and then navigate that way. This won't work. Enter the IP address directly into the browser's Location or Navigation bar at the top. This will take you to your router's login screen. *NOTE sometimes the router's default password is "password". But it's possible that your password was changed during installation. If you don't have your router's password, contact your Internet provider.

  • Once logged into your router, navigate to its DNS settings. My guess is that if your Roku isn't working, it's because rather than an external IP address being used for your DNS, the router is set to use an internal IP address. (Your computer is able to overcome this because it has built-in DNS settings, but the Roku looks to the router for this information.)

  • Replace the internal DNS address with a public DNS address. What worked for us was using Google's public DNS. So set DNS1 to 8.8.8.8 and DNS2 to 8.8.4.4 .

  • Save your settings.

  • Run the Roku setup again. If you still aren't able to connect to the Internet, then bounce (unplug) the router. Leave it unplugged for 15 seconds. Then power it back up. Try again with the Roku. If that doesn't work, bounce the Roku. Leave it unplugged for 15 seconds, plug the power back in. The 15-second rule with computers and hardware is surprisingly effective.

  • If you've set the DNS properly, your Roku should now (finally) connect to the Internet. When this happens, it will complete its setup process and you should be good to go.

Belkin f9k11009v1, Macintosh unable to connect

First see if you are able to connect to the internet wired to the router,
-If you are able to connect using the wire connection then I suggest to turn off the wireless security settings for the time being and see what happens.

Wireless
See if you are able to ping your router.
Ref: http://www.wikihow.com/Ping-on-Mac-OS
-Make sure that the TCP/IP settings are set to DHCP and make sure that it is getting an IP address and Default Gateway.

If you are able to ping the router then see if you are able to ping google by name and by IP. (An IP address for google, com is 74.125.141.100)

If you are able to ping both then you should be able to access the internet.

If you are able to ping only the google's IP address then you have a DNS issue.
-See if you can set your DNS address manualy to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Ref: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

If you are able to ping only google by name then see if you are able to access google by typing in the replied IP address in the address bar of your web browser on a computer that is working fine.
-If you are not able to access google with the address then you may have something stooping you on your machine. Check for firewalls and antivirus to see if they have any network configurations.

Connect ps3 to laptop via web and walk

Connecting PS3 to a network I have LinkSys wireless router which is working perfectly for other devices (like laptop, Xbox360, TiVO). My wireless network is configured to NOT broadcast the SID and with a WEP key. After entering this manually in the network setup on my PS3, I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me, was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks!

Cant get wifi on my ds even with WEP key

The DS doesn't have the best WiFi signal.

Make sure you are close to your router for one.

Also check the WEP key as it may say the AP (access point) isn't there if the WEP is wrong.

Also some routers won't connect properly to the DS unless the IP,Gateway, and DNS are set manually.

If you choose to set the AP info manualy then you need to find the you AP's IP address.
Commonly this would be 192.168.1.1 however it varies from one brand to another or may be changed manualy.
Try these settins with the corrected IP adress number as the gateway.

IP Adress 192.168.1.152 (this is you'r DS IP adress. The 3rd digit should be the same as you gatway's 3rd digit. The fourth digit can be any number that isn't used on your network.

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Gateway 192.168.1.1

DNS Pri 192.168.1.1
DNS Sec 192.168.1.0
(Usually I set the Gateway and DNS numbers the same and it usually works. The Gateway is the IP address of your wifi router.)

If this fails and all numbers are correct, then it may be that the WiFi router will not work with the DS as some brands simply refuse to work with it for unkown reasons.

Anohter solution is to get a WiFi USB dongle and connect to that.

Hpg6000 Vista 32 cannot access via browser

Hi.

This problem usually occurs if DNS addresses are not set-up correctly.
DNS addresses are IP addresses of DNS servers which translates your queries to IP addresses. Like, when you enter www.google.com in your browser, computer sends this to DNS server, then DNS server gives back information of the address of the site you're trying to visit. Since your computer does not know where DNS server is, it cannot display your web page. Some programs like Messenger and Skype work by quering exact addresses (since they are made to connect to single database on Internet), and that's the reason they are connected to Internet.

  1. Ask your Internet provider for DNS addresses.
  2. Open Start menu and then Control Panel.
  3. Open Network Connections.
  4. Right-click the connection you are using to connect to Internet, and click Properties.
  5. From the item list, choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Click Use the following DNS server addresses.
  8. Enter given addresses.
  9. Click OK and then Close.
