The engine symbol light keeps coming on. I have had the TDC Sensor repalced and it was fine for a day but its back on again. The car stopped and although it started it would not pull away under load. Has anyone found a resoloution to this problem?

Look on the brake pedal assembly and their is some sensors that run off the throttle and brake and clutch, could be these are playing. But it is a renault with encrypted software so evan if you can get fault codes read they dont always show the right fault codes ,this is deliberate ploy to create work for the dealers.Trust me on this one

SOURCE: renault megane engine light flashing and car is juddering.

I have 2 meganes im working on at the moment both have the same problem. the electrical falt light is on coz the pipe has snapped (or come off) under the bonnet on the passangers side close to the window (theres a black box about 2 inch wide the pipe connects underneath). if I reconect the pipe and grab the engien with both hands it wobbles and the pipe pulls off. I suspect this is coz one (or all) the engien mountings are shagged. and this will be the cause of the juddering when driveing in first and second gears. solutions iv have come across for juddering involve changeing the coil pack but thats nothing to do with the problem my 2 cars have as one of them has new coils. they are 1.6 petrol, p reg and s reg

I have a renault megane 1998, central locking suddenly stopped working tested key fob thats OK

It could be your onboard computer or locking module, as the guy next door had an identical problem on his Megane. A tech came and changed a module then programmed the 'brains'.

My Renault megane 2003 began juddering on the motorway doing around 70mph then the engine management light kept flicking on and off. I pulled over stop the engine turned all electrics off and restarted it,...

Check the timing belt. It should have been changed at 60,000 miles. Sounds like you have lost some teeth on the synchronous belt resulting in lost timing. Damage to valves can occur. look under plastic cover on the end of the head for the belt

My engine light started to flash orange on my 03 renault megane. the car also began to judder. I have been experiencing problems starting the car and think this may be connected

I have a 2000 megane and have had a problem like this a few times in the past. In each case, the problem has been due to a broken coil - this has a separate HT coil per spark plug, fitting directly onto the spark plug, and the coil breaks, so that the plug doesn't fire and the engine judders. I think the light is because the engine management notices there is unburnt fuel coming out.

I'm told there was a known flaw in the design of the earlier coils, but it's supposed to have been rectified. But I've had a newer fail, and now carry a spare. Easy enough to fit - tricky part is identifying which one has failed - can remove one LT connection at a time to see if anything changes - I've always stopped the engine between tests rather than doing it live. This might be bad for the engine - I don't know. I was told you should replace coils in pairs, but don't know about that.

But I guess it could also be a break in the LT wiring, or a fouled spark plug. Or something else entirely.

Your clutch is either wet with oil , or you are riding it oo much and making it hot. Push it all the way in when you are stopped. Don't hold it part way, or you will burn it out.

Renault megane 1.6 1996

theres a sensor for engine intake manifold pressure mounted on the right hand side of the bulkhead. The pipe the connects the sensor to the intake manifold can develop a leak due to the constant flexing due to the movement of the engine. The fuel injection and ignition system then can't correctly compensate for the pressure so the engine can hesitate under load. Try replacing this short length of tube with a new piece.
