Sounds like you have clutch and drive problems. Take it in for service.

The two pins in the brake caliper are probably corroded including the caliper itself. Needs to be removed, pins removed, cleaned, and reinstalled. The caliper holes themselves needs to cleaned by reaming them out without enlarging beyond their normal size. A second option would be just replace the caliper assembly.

I had a similar problem with my TroyBilt 50 inch zero turn mower. Was cutting grass when it stopped going either forward or backward even though it would start and the PTO would move the cutting blades. Turned out the tensioner spring for the belt that drives the motors near the rear wheels had gone missing. Searched the yard where I had cut and moved the machine but couldn't find it. A new one cost me about $7.50. Put the new one on and it worked fine.

check the lever stops make sure there not out of adjustment

Hi, did this happen when you went to use it or while mowing? Also will the lever go in but the mower won't move or won't the lever go in either gear at all? Regards Phil.

make sure the emergency brake is completely releasing , is the motor lugging or working really hard to make it move? does it feel like the brake is on, or that the motor just won't get up to speed to make it move smoothly
