2008 sienna battery hooked up backwards briefly but now corrected. It will start and run but nothing else works. Can't get it out of Park; the throttle does not work. What is up? Is that symptoms of the anti-theft system having been activated? I do Have a 15 AMP fuse that is blown and will replace tomorrow. I don't know what the fuse is for. It is the one in the fuse box above the driver's side front tire and is the one farthest to the outside.
When a battery is installed backwards for any amount of time it blows fuses mainly the large ones in the under hood fuse box
Hmm. The large fuses huh? Replacing the 15 Amp fuse did not change the symptoms. The fuse was labeled "Rad No.1", whatever that is. I will try to check the Big ones tomorrow. Thanks for your reply.
Replaced the Fuse Link Assembly cuz it had two elements burnt in it. Now the vehicle behaives no differently (starts but nothing works, no throttle & can't get it out of Park). Now what?
keep checking the fuses it can blow a lot of them the small ones as well i have seen 24 on one car

The fuse block is located under the left side of the dash. The 10amp fuse you're looking for is the second from the bottom on the right side. It should be marked Tail. Hope this helps.

try small needle nose pliers or hemostats or take a paper clip make small bend in end to 90 degree hook then to try to get behind the blades and pull out

This sounds like a fault in the system. If it is an after market product you can try a rest after checking all lines, connectors, splices or fuses that may be installed. If it is part of the included equipment, a common item in today's vehicles, you will need to have the dealer check it with their ECM computer. Toyota incorporates Alarms in the ECM when they install them as part of a vehicle line. In those cases it is very difficult to isolate problems in the alarm system itself and if the fault is an ECM issue the problem will migrate to your other systems leading to ECM replacement after warranty has expired. Being a 2008 you need to get this into the Dealer and have it checked and replaced while it is under warranty. ECM on this vehicle run over $2000 when I last checked.

I would start within the ignition itself in the steering column also try disconnecting the ignition coils wiring. The short could be ANYWHERE.Toyota generally runs the ignition, battery, ECM and ignition coil off of the ignition fuse. The ECM controls things such as oxygen sensors, brakelight signal and starter signal. Start at the battery and slowly inspect back, keep me informed of progress but look carefully at the ignition on the column and wiring leading to it
