check wires at throttle body. can use a 12 volt test light to check for current. if you have spark it is not the ign module. set meter for 12-20volts. should have 2 fuse boxes on this model, one behind right side of dash at floorboard

SOURCE: car wont start

I noticed you replace the crankshaft sensor, but not the CAMshaft sensor.
The Ignition module takes the input of both sensors to tell the coil when to energize.
This sensor should come up as an error code when you attach a obd reader.
Even if your light is not on - there may be a code. If it is not your vehicle originally, some people pull the bulb!

SOURCE: 1996 sunfire with no spark

Change your coil pack. If you want to save money, go to an auto wrecker and get one. Don't be afraid of used parts. You drive on them every day. Might as well grab a mass air flow sensor while you're there.

SOURCE: 2002 pontiac grand am, new fuel pump and filter, wont start

Is the security light active? If yes it will have to get reprogrammed by the GM dealer as GM has this as a propriatory system... Meaning no one else can work on it.

Car wont start

Check fuel pressure. if its low, then replace or test fuel filter, fuel pump relay, or fuel pump. If pressure is within range, then check coil or ignition module.

Car wont start not the battery

Starter switch, starter relay, or starter motor. If it cranks, but don't start, check fuel pressure. If pressure is not good, then replace fuel filter, fuel pump relay, and/or fuel pump (in that order) If fuel pressure is ok, then its ignition. check and/or replace coil or igniton module.

Does tapping on the starter work to start the car?

If it turns over, its not your starter. Fuel system or ignition system must be at fault. Test to make sure you have enough fuel pressure. If pressure is ok, its your ignition system. Fuel system consistes of fuel filter, fuel pump relay, and fuel pump. As far as ignition, check coil, ignition module, cap, wires, sparkplugs, and rotory button if so equipped.

Kf laser 5spd manual 1.6 carb

The idle circuit on the KE and KF Laser carby engines is controlled by the ignition module inside the distributor. The symptoms are intermittent stalling. There are also windings inside the distibutor that should be replaced at the same time as the module because these can short out the module.

Hard to start at times hot or cold

engine wont start cold or hot could be fuel problem.check for fuel or spark.try doing little troubleshooting make sure sparkplugs and wires good condition.fuel filter been changed.engine need fuel and spark ignition to run.turn ignition on listen for fuel pump operation in fuel tank if no check fuel pump fuse and relay.if fuse relay okay.problem could be the fuel pump but first use code scanner look for PCM, CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR,CAMSHAFT SENSOR AND DISTRIBUTOR IGNITION FAULT CODE.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FUEL INTANK I SEEN THAT HAPPEN BEFORE.

Hi I have a chevy malibu 05, it wont start when its hot already replaced the fuel pump and fuel fuse, still same problem

The next time it does't start check for spark at any of the sparkplugs if you have no spark then, check the crankshaft sensor for a signal if its good then its either the igniter or the ignition control module.

Will crank and run fine when engine is cold go for drive come back wont start, new battery1 will turn over just like no fire is getting through1

could be a number of possible faults.1/crank sensor not working when hot, trace this and pour cold water on it(dont do this if it is not by crank pulley as water isnt good for modules etc) and retry.2/sparkplugs worn, but usually they would fault more on cold start.3/fuel pump cuts out when run,try wacking tank from underneath and retry.though I would concentrate on nil spark caused by a faulty ignition module or crank sensor.
Next time it fails to start.pull off a sparkplug lead, make a quick test plug with an old(but working)sparkplug.pull the side wire away from the center electrode 5mm and insert into plug lead.earth ground the plug on its thread against metal on the engine.crank and check for spark visually, don't be tempted to hold the plug while cranking.if nil spark we will have to test further which is faulty sensor.if it sparks ok we will need to test for fuel.
testing for fuel is easy.
when it fails, unclip air filter housing, while engine is being cranked, spray an aerosol based carburettor cleaner into air duct to engine,it should start and run while spraying and stop when you stop spraying if fuel delivery is the fault.fuel pump will then need testing/replacing.
be careful not to spray onto ignition or any areas of spark

Replace egr valve still wont start

PROBLEM COULD BE FAULTY FUEL PUMP OR IGNITION MODULE.CHECK FUEL PRESSURE SHOULD BE 41 - 47 PSI. IF NO FUEL PRESSURE TO LOW REPLACE FUEL FILTER.STILL LOW FUEL PUMP FAULTY.IF FUEL PUMP DONT RUN CHECK FUSE AND RELAY.IF FUSE RELAY GOOD PUMP BAD.IF FUEL SYSTEM OKAY USE A SPARK TESTER TO CHECK FOR SPARK AT SPARK PLUGS IF NOT CHECK IGNITION MODULE FUSE IF OKAY IGNITION MODULE COULD BE BAD.USE A CODE SCANNER TO CHECK FOR FAULT CODE IN PCM AND IGNITION MODULE.THIS SAVE YOU FROM SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY.

My car wont start, you turn the key , and sounds like it's going to start but it just wont' i already take to the mechanic he had the car for about 2 months i get the car back ; he said it was fix and now...

FIRST GET A SPARK TESTER TO SEE IF YOU ARE GETTING SPARK AT SPARK PLUGS.IF NOT CHECK IGNITION MODULE FUSE.IF FUSE GOOD HAVE CAR HOOK UP TO SCANNER LOOK FOR IGNITION MODULE FAULT CRANKSHAFT SENSOR FAULT AND PCM FAULT.IF ALL LOOK GOOD SO FAR.CHECK TO SEE IF FUEL PUMP WORKING.CHECK PUMP FUEL PRESSURE IT SHOULD BE 41 - 47 PSI. IF NOT REPLACE FUEL FILTER STILL LOW REPLACE FUEL PUMP.IF FUEL PUMP NOT WORKING AT ALL CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY.IF BOTH IS GOOD FUEL PUMP AT FAULT.BUT SCAN TO CHECK FOR PCM FAULT CODES IT CONTROL SPARK AND FUEL SYSTEM.MAKE SURE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES IS GOOD. ALSO CHECK FUEL INJECTORS FUSE ALSO.
