Eclipse cd3200 My cd3200 works, but there is no display. It worked but my nissan pathfinder developed a short in the dome light wiring. The dome light started flickering on and off, and the display went out. Is there an internal fuse, and where would it be? Thanks

all other electrics ok in car, and starts and drives the car?
all exterior lamps work? brake,turns/stop ;heads?

wrong lamp, not using correct lamp shown in the glove box guide.
the lamp has 3 modes on most cars.
off all the time (disabled by a switch)
on all the time.
or door open activated.
or a fuse is blown, I check them all.
all door locks work"??
car has smart entrance control module
my guess is fuse to it blown. 1 of the 4 to it.
F10, F11,F24 named fuses
the dome does have manual on switch if it is dead
then spot and vanity lamp are dead too, that means fuses blow.above;.

but the 3 fuse must be good told above first

the brake light switch will work without the key in the ignition if you push on the brake pedal, its just the way its designed. if you were to test the switch with a test light one wire is always powered up and the second wire is only powered when the brake pedal is pushes to activate the switch. if you test both wires without pushing the pedal I think you will find you have power on both wires indicating the brake switch has shorted and is working all the time. replace the brake switch.

You connected up the brake light switch incorrectly, the new switch is faulty, or you blew the fuse by shorting out the wires while fixing the switch, or both tail lights are burnt out, or if the vehicle has benn accident damaged, the shop forgot to attach an earth on the taillight assembly.........

sounds like you may have a broken wire where the wiring goes through the rubber trunking between A post and door may also same prob on rear hatch

could be a body module or some kind of wire break

Check for broken or shorted out wires underneath it. Usually near the back where gravel stones can hit. Use a test light to see where the voltage ends. Just keep working your way back on the wire.

Nasty had an old british austin allegro 3rd hand repainted. Fools left wireharness right under the floor carpet. Famous wide curve outside my work blew same fuse un til decided to investigate every square mm on every wire and yep only one and taped it. Problem gone. That was that problem Now ther is a wire or another faulty component at yours. check wich fuse it is and which part of the car is covered with it. Go from there.
