The wired keyboard backlight turnes off too quickly

I am looking for a way to lengthen the time the backlight on the keyboard stays on. I am having the same problem with the timing on the main display during phone calls. The main display turnes off almost immediately once I place or receive a phone call.

I haven't been able to find a setting that adjusts the keyboard's backlight, and the screen always turns off when I'm on a call. I'm getting used to the 2nd problem, if I need the screen on I just press the power button. I imagine the reason they made it that way is so you can't interrupt your own call by your cheek hitting the touch screen.

It's nothing whatsoever to do with the backlight settings

The solution given is not solving the Problem of backlight getting off as soon as the call starts.

Back light goes off as soon as the call is answered. Real pain when calling answer phone, using extension numbers and other calls that require keyboard input. My understanding is that you can not stop this using the back light settings provided.

You would need to go into the Setting Menu and find the Backlight or Power setting to lengthen the display and keypad backlight times. Just know that your battery life will decrease the higher the settings especially since it is a VGA screen.

How to increase battery life in LG GT505

Feeling tired that after surfing the web or playing a few games, the battery is halfway through to being dead?
So this Tip is for you!
What we're going to do, is put every setting on the minimum so that it doesn't waste battery life that much when you're just typing a SMS.

1 - Open the Menu and click on the last icon (on the right bar) on the bottom. - Settings

2-Open Phone Settings, and slide the Power Save button to turn it ON.

3- Now go back to Settings and go to Screen Settings and choose Brightness. Set it to 0% and Save it (click Yes even if it tells you that you are changing the Power Save Settings)

4 - (Optional) If you don't mind your phone turning off the backlight real quick, you can change the amount of time it stays on, but if you send or read a lot of messages, it can become a bit annoying, so it's really up to you! Anyway, in Settings, choose Screen Settings, then Backlight, and choose whatever time suits you. Keep in mind, that the lower the time stays on, the more it saves up battery life.

Imagine you just made a phone call, then put the phone on your pocket. For some time, it's backlight is on for a long time, maximum brightness and you're not even looking at the phone. That's a waste of battery power!

Using those new settings, you can get up to 3 days battery while playing a fair amount of games!

To turn on the backlight on the keyboard follow the steps below. The keyboard backlight LED can be accessed through either the Quickset Utility or Windows Mobility Center depending on the installed application.Once this is open click on the Keyboard Backlighting section. Make sure the keyboard light is turned on.

How do i turn on the keyboard backlight on my toshiba satellite p200-1fc laptop?

Hi registrat342,Look on your keyboard & there should be 2 pictures that look like a sun on your function keys and 1 that is next to those but it has eyelashes and a box under it. Every keyboard might differ-but hopefully you get my point-as in 3 total 1st=dimmer, 2nd=brighter & 3rd would be the backlight. With mine-all I do is click it. Yours might be a little different. No i'm sorry but that model has no keyboard backlight. If you wanted one which did have a backlight you would have to purchase a customised one.

How do you get the keyboard lights to stay on? They come on and off at will.

Hi,

For you to extend your keyboard lightening time, please do this;

1. Click on the Home button > Options > Screen/Keyboard > Scroll to Backlight Timeout increase to the highest probably 2minutes. This should should keep your backlight on for as long as 2 minutes before it goes off.

This should do.

Go to Options > Screen/Keyboard.
You can adjust the following settings
Backlight Brightness
Backlight Timeout
Automatically Dim BB
Turn on/OFF the auto backlight diming feature

Backlight malfunction

the ribbon wire of the keyboard is lose contact. If you can do it by yourself, just remove the terminal then attached it again. But if you cant, then go to service center. tanx.

Backlight of LCD turns off

Hi,
For latitude systems they have this ambient light sensor. it basically adjusts the brightness of the screen depening on room lighting. try to go to bios by hitting F2 on the dell logo. go to video and try to look for ambient light sensor. however, im not sure if your computer has that feature I have a second option for you though. based on the troubleshooting you've done, it seems that the video back lighting is affected by movement. it would be a good try to reseat the LCD cable. you can use this link to guide you in fixing the computer : http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latd505/sm/keyboard.htm
all you need to do is to take out the keyboard with 2 screw holding it in place. the LCD cable should then be accessible. it a thick cable that coming out of the Left hinge.
