MACBOOK BACKLIGHT I just bought a Macbook A1369 lcd on ebay to replace my cracked lcd. I know the backlight was still on before I tear the lcd off and replace with the new one. Any one knows why the backlight will not turn on again after replacing with new lcd ? Please help.

Ref 1369a airbook.
Double check your backlight cable. It is the small cable in the middle of the polarizer control board. It has to be installed with the white strips facing up. So when you inserting it during installation the cable has to be twisted. It is a pain....

Yes I know, how to fix it. Whe you have replaced the LCD, did you also unglued the backscreen sheets? The LED bulbs providing the back light are seated behind these sheets which are glued to the metal. They tend to damage very easeasily. No way to buy them if this is damaged. You will need to buy a damaged, complete back panal. But first check if the wiring is properly done. Here is the guide.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHNtnvzfSzYGood LuckMohan

As far as I'm aware only the macbook Pro models have KB backlighting so without a motherboard change you are probably out of luck

SOURCE: Macbook Screen Error

Does it only show up when the computer is on? There were a few reports of several MacBooks having video card issues that caused this problem. Take it to an Apple store and have a Mac Genius look at it to confirm.

Just take it back to Apple, it's unfortunately a common problem. Most people have had it fixed for free - warranty or not!

If you've already tried turning up the brightness of the screen (the "sun" icon), then you may have a problem with the backlight (possibly burnt out, in which case you'd need a new backlight bulb). See this post for more details:

Booting time no display but some sound come

Looks like an issue with your hard drive or your LCD or backlight. If you can see the image faintly, but there is no light, there might be an issue with your backlight. If you can't seen anything at all, it's your LCD or graphics chip. Apple will help you with this because it is so new. However if you dropped it (etc.) and if apple doesn't replace it for you, You can get the part at iPhone Repair NYC and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at Macbook Repair Guide.

You backlight needs to be replaced. In fact it could be caused by your inverter as well. Try the inverter first, it's cheap and easy to replace. If you want to do it yourself, the good news is, it's not too hard to open it. Here is a Macbook Repair Guide that shows how to open an Macbook. Just open it and let it try, clean off any corrosion you can find. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to iPad Repair NYC.

Screen is dark or dead on my 17" Macbook Pro

This could be a backlight issue, a board issue or an inverter issue. Look at the screen closely, if there is a faint image it's either a backlight issue or inverter issue. To weed out between the two you can just order on inverter, they're 20 bucks on ebay, if that doesn't work, replace the backlight. Backlight repairs are somewhat difficult. As much as I would like to be able to tell you a quickfix that will solve backlight the problem, you'll most likely have to google for guides that show you exactly how to replace the backlight or bring it in for repairs.I work for Mac Repair NYC and i have to fix this problem a lot.

I changed my macbook screen, and the backlight now will not work. Everything else works fine, just no light. My real question is what voltage should be coming from the inverter board. I read no AC or DC...

Apple doesn't provide voltage information for the Inverter Board.
If you are getting external video then check to see if there is a dim (un-backlit) image on the display to ensure it is a backlight problem. If so then the chances are good you have a failed inverter board.
