Panasonic KXTA624 Hello, I have had the above system in use in my home for about eight years. In the last two days, when line one rings, the status lamp comes on and then goes out after about 1 - 2 rings. The people who are calling say that it sound like someone picked up the phone and hung up. I have since plugged in a cordless single line phone bypassing the KSU, and it seems that the line is fine. Any ideas? Thanks, Barry Decker

How to switch on the ringer in Panasonic KX-T7730 ?

I have a 3 position switch on the left side of the phone. Since I doubt that's what you're really asking, the ring from outside lines is controlled by system programming. Consult the manual for your Panasonic system. In a TA series, it's program 408-409 for Day and Night ringing.

I have a Panasonic 7731 here at my desk. It rings audibly when any of our 5 or 6 lines is called. I'd like to narrow it down to only ringing when someone calls my line (my phone #).

Check out the system programming manual for your particular cabinet. Somewhere, like in the 40x's, there's an instruction to program ringing for each extension in day, night, and lunch modes.

Hi would like to know how to set an extension not to ring when any of the co lines is ringing since i have a fax machine connected to this extension and it is programmed to answer automatically

Ringing for each extension and line is done in Panasonic system programming commands 408-410 for Day/Night/Lunch. You turn off ringing for all lines to your fax extension and then just turn on one line for that phone.

Be sure to turn off or delay the fax line ringing to all the other extensions at the same time.

I have the AT&T Model 854 4-line phone. When the phone is plugged in the phone starts toning and won't stop.

Thats because its looking for the intercom number to be assigned. as soon as you assign one in programming it will stop.

Panasonic phone

This system will have to be programmed to allow line 1 to ring on that particular set. When you pick up line 1 now and it dials out it is dialing the last number you called from the phone.

We have a panasonic kx-t7431 phone system in our office and want to add 2 more handsets to it. How do we do it

Hello,

Each phone needs it's own set of wires to the main control unit. You cannot use splitters or connect a new jack up to another jack like home phones can. Do not connect your phone directly to the phone company's phone line. It will not work and a ring signal will break your phone.

The phone you have (kx-t7431) can work on one of several different Panasonic phone systems so your first step is finding out which model control unit you have.

Some of the smaller systems you can plug phones directly into them but the larger systems need a phone jack terminated at a punch down block.

Once connected your phone should work with the default settings. If you need it to ring at special times or with special phone lines then you'll have to do some system programming.

If you want to tackle this yourself you will probably need to obtain an "installation & programming" manual for your specific system.
