Why did the right side stop working?

I have the same set and mine broke on me too. Though mine was the left side. It looks like you've opened up the back piece but you can get to the meat of it if you just push on the pole that ear piece sits under push back on it(don't snap) and use a little upward force on the ear piece. Then you can see where the wire has most likely disconnected.

If it hasn't on that side you can do the same on the other side, it most likely has disconnected from the PCB as the wires are very very thin(what happened to mine). Just use a soldering iron and heat up the solder on the pad and put the wire back on. You need to make sure that the wire is exposed from the insulation first(I could use my nail to pull it off but the right wires looked different).

I attached a picture I took with the PCB exposed. On the left and right you can see the two grey prongs you need to put some pressure on to remove the rocker and get in. On the PCB at the top left you can see the 4 pads the speaker wires connect to. My left speaker was disconnect so you won't see wires on there(red and black). right beside it is the right speaker connection(blue and white wires). those should be attached like in the picture.

Use a soldering iron only if you have experience or with someone who does. I don't take responsibility for burns or fires or any other crazy mishaps. Doing this could break your headphones further, by burning the PCB or snapping the rockers on the side or any number of other things that could go wrong. So only do this if you already don't care if they break further.

I snapped off a speaker terminal to a front right speaker while moving. The unit is a Denon avr 590. I then had to run one side of the wire into the hole the terminal filled. A very touchy practice wi

If the terminal is broken you may be able to replace it .if you have trouble finding one ,Email me at (K4act at yahoo.com) I may have one, seeing as I have a unit for parts in the shop.

Generally you attach the cap on one side. Lift it up and push down to snap in the other side. If parts got broken, you can buy the key from ebay?

Headphone jack must be moved around to get right speaker working

You will find that sound comes from the right side speaker only when it is bent at a certain point. By trial and error you can roughly locate the point. Then you can cut the wire at that point, cut 1 inch each from both ends, strip the cables, and connect the conductors. What has happened is, due to unusual bending, the conductors to the right-side speaker has damaged (broken). After roughly locating the place and removing 1 additional inch each, you will remove the wire section with the broken terminal. Now you can strip the wires and make the connections again. If you are not good at stripping and soldering wires, better to to take it to an electrician. (You need to take only the headphone pin and parts attached to it). This repair won't cost much. Good luck!

Removal of broken back speaker

I have a 1990 with the same problem and the solution is quite easy but delicate at the same time.
The outside of the speaker has a "snap on" and thus carefully pry off "cover".
Once off you can easily see the screws which hold the actual speaker in place.
Speaker wire clips are easy to undo. Very simple R & R once the cover is off.
Be careful when you snap the cover back into place.

Griffin evolve speakers

The back plate is definitely snap off. As teodo mentioned, do not pull the entire rubber backing off. On the bottom and sides of the back plater there are two snaps, each directly on either side of the wider ridge along each edge. The top is a different problem. The snaps are on the speaker side and clip onto the bottom of the upper edge of the back panel. To remove the back plate: Start on the bottom of the speaker at the back edge. Pull away the rubber edge carefully to expose the joint between the back panel and the speaker box. Along the center of the of this joint on the panel is a wider ridge. Place a thin flat edged tool on one side of the ridge, pry, then push forcibly until the inner edge of the back plate is apart. Do this to each of the edges on the bottom and sides of the speaker. Don't peel away any rubber on the top side of the speaker. Press your flat edged tool into the joint and lift gently the back plate side of the joint before pushing it out. This will disengage the clips on that edge. If you're looking to replace the batteries, they are 3.5V 5200maH. Take Care
