I just purchased a 2006 chevy 2500. This truck has an astrostart remote car starter. The unlock and lock buttons work and the remote indicates that the vehicle is starting but the truck does not turn over when the button is pushed.

In some cases, if you hold down a button too long on the remote fob, the starter module goes into a setup "menu", which is possible. You didn't change the fob batteries lately, did you? It sounds like you will have to 'retrain' the fob with the starter unit so that it re-learns what to do when you push the start button. With the "Ultra" brand, you use the button on the windshield antenna to retrain your unit. I'm not sure about the Autopage brand. An installer should be able to reprogram it for you for $10, and that would be the easiest if you can't find the data by doing a Google search.

there is another bolt at back of starter which is bolted to engine block and starter.
check it out

more than likely the system is faulty, the quality of these aftermarket alarm leaves allot to be desired, I suggest u replace it with a better quaity unit like cobra
SOURCE: both remotes failed to either
no reset button, sorry. If the starter is turning over, then it's more than likely not an alarm or keyless problem. if it was even connected, the starter kill feature is used to "cut" the starter wire from the ignition and the starter itself, and if you say it's turning over, that's where i get my answer for it not being the avital. of course there could be more to it, remote start added, and the type of car make a huge difference, could be a bypass module for bypassing a factory security system, so without any more info, that's all i can give you. hope this helps, dave

I also bought a vehicle with an astro car starter. I had to replace the batteries and now it does not work at all.
