My Mazda RX8 2004

For the past couple of months I have been at the dealer about my car driving bad. After driving the car and it gets hot it will drive bad and cut off. The Mazda dealer said that was a misfire. OKAY so the first fix the stenoid and I drove it home and to work abd it cut off again after it got HOT. It cranks up after 3 min or so. Then I took it back they had it for 4 days and fix the cad. convertor, spark plugs, coils, and other little things. When i drove it home and to work and it got HOT enough it cut off again. I took it back. They kept it 2 days and called to say its the engine malfunction. They are replacing it. I have seen many things oon the internet about a recall on the 2004 engine. All the things they fixed already I paid to get fix just to turn around and replace the engine. Can someone explain what the HECK mazda is doing. Do I need to get rid of my car because it I have also read a rotor engine is bad and high maintenance. I bought it from a dealer but not Mazda and havent had it a year. After I get the engine will I continue to have problems?

Thanks for your comment. I have spent money for things I feel were un necessary just for them to say its the engine. When that should have been their first correction. They are saying they will replace the engine at NO COST not knowing I am aware of the engine and transmission problems the RX8 has. So my question is did I get things fix that has to do with the recalls and I should be refunded? I am not paying for the engine that I am sure is a rebuilt engine not a new one. But if I have paid for things that were part of what they are repairing now which is the engine than should I be refunded for what I have paid for thus far. In other words do need to call Help me Howard? If you know who that is.

I think it is related to the the ECM unit. Just gotta suck it up. My RX8 JDM 2009 cuts out regularly when I move the automatic gearbox to N and coast slowly up to the red light before I bring the car to a complete stop. My RX8 was brand new and fresh from the showroom. It had less than 5,000 kms on it before I got my first cut out. My guess is the ECM gets confused and cuts the engine. Difficult to replicate. Just happens without notice but does so frequently. Mazda deny it all and think I make all this stuff up. Will never buy a Mazda again.

I have a Mazda too! It is old, though, and has needed a ton of repair. It's a family vehicle and so we're not going to give up on it too easily. However, we did recently replace the transmission and it's been running much smoother ever since. http://www.terrystransmission.com/servic...

I will never buy a mazda again. They have bad transmissions and engines. What is worse they use the same parts as Ford. How in the world do you combine a japanese and american parts into one engine? It keeps breaking down, thats what happens. I would ride it out since you are already gettin an engine but if you haven't purchased it, sell it and put that money towards another car, the dealer has used you like a gold digger.

I have a Mazda 6 that has a Vacuum leak, that has never caused a problem performance wise until yesterday; My car would not slow down, would not brake normally, also the idle RPM would never slow- would...

it all depends on where the leak is and your text gives no hint. seems like you may have a couple of problems. this is most likely still under warranty so i would run these issues past a service department at a dealer.

Is it normal for the oil pressure gauge on a 2009 2 litre MX 5 to fall close to the L mark whilst idling when hot?

No there is a problem take it to the dealer you are under warrenty get it check right away. Could be a bad gauge but also could be a problem with the oil pump or a leak somewhere.

My 99 cadillac deville ran hot about 8 months ago i took it to the dealer thay told me that i need a new engine and to drive it for a couple days and see what happen i have been driving it for eight months...

If you have no obvious external coolant leaks then the most likely culprits would be leaking head gaskets or warped heads. I would take the car to an engine rebuilding shop and get a second opinion to the dealer, not to say that they are wrong, but your engine may be salvageable at a cheaper cost and those guys would be better positioned to tell you that. Hope this helps.

MAZDA dealer replaced transmission under warranty

it sounds like the dealer has not fit the shifter cable corectly it may be sitting on a bad angle as you have all ready paid the money for the new auto and you expressed your concern when you picked the car up you should take the car back and demand it be repair properly don't take the excuse it is wering in car parts dont were in,
i am sorry this is not exactly wat you want to here as this sit is to help people fix things but some things you shouldn't have to fix eg poor workmanship
(also the truble may be in the selecting mecanism inside the auto in wich case it will need to go to spcalist)
