How do I release air pressure on tire of nishiki so I can pump tire

You don't need to release air pressure to pump up the tire. If you have tubes with "presta" valve stems you need to unscrew the knurled nut on the end of the stem before inflating the tire. Presta stems also require the correct type of fitting on the end of the pump hose.

Can the handlebar height be adjusted on the mongoose deceptor bike?

The stem could be flipped over if the rise change would result in a hgiehr handlebar, but it would be minimal. That style of stem requires the steerer tube to be cut at the time of assembly and spacers are usually installed that would allow lowering the bars but not raising them since steerer tube length can't be increased.

Or, get a stem with a steeper rise.

I just purchased The Cruiser 24 classis Huffy bike and can not find how to raise the handel bars. Is there a way to raise them up higher?

The center bolt on the stem tightens an expander wedge down inside the steerer tube. Loosen it a few turns, tap down on it to dislodge the wedge and the whole assembly should rotate independently of the wheen and you should be able to move it vertically.

The stem can only be safely raised so far. There will be a 'minimum insertion ' mark etched on it. Don't go any higher than that or you may die when the stem suddenly pops off the bike while you're riding it.

Get it to the height you want, align the handlebars square with the front wheel and tighten the bolt. While holding the front wheel between your knees, try to rotate the handlebars to make sure they're locked to the steerer tube.

If you need more height the stem would have to be replaced with one having a higher rise, shorter reach or some combination. A bike shop will have what you need.

How to put air in the tires the stems are different

Your bike tube has Presta style valves. Automotive style valves are known a schraders. To inflate the tube, you will need either an adapter, presta to schrader or a hand pump that has a head for presta valves. Any bike shop will have one for sale. To fill the presta valve style, remove the black cap(if it is there) You will see little stem with a small knurled nut. Screw the nut all the way up until it stops. Put the pump head over the stem, making sure it is pushed down. Flip up the lever on the pump head, fill to desired pressure 100 to 120psi...yes, that much pressure, it's a road bike. Flip the lever on the pump head down and remove it from the stem. The PSST you will hear is the air from the line on the pump...not the tire. Screws the knurled nut down and replace the black cap. If you do not srew the little nut down and push on the stem you will let the air out of the tire. If you need more help, you can email me @ [email protected] and I will send you pictures of the process, or the staff at your local bike shop should be able to show you how.

Why? it should work unless the valve on the tyre is faulty than you need an inner tube for it. You can order inner tubes from www.buggypitstop.co.uk

Fix a front flat tire on a mongoose varial bike

The first step is to remove the wheel assembly from the bike. Once that is done insure all the air is removed from the tube by holding in the needle on the valve stem. You may have to remove the cap from your valve stem first. Next, using a flat blunt tool, pry the inside lip of the tire away from the rim and hold down the tool. Make sure you don't have the tube pinched with your tool. Next, using a second tool, repeat the first step about 6" from the first tool. This should start the tire to come off the rim on the side you are working on. You should now be able to pull out the tube and inspect for holes. Use a simple tire patch kit if you can or simply replace the tube.

To replace the tube, remove the valve stem cap and insert it from the tire side through the hole in the rim for access. Replace cap on stem to help hold valve in place. Carefully lay tube inside tire without folding it. You may have to bunch it up a bit. Start pushing tire edge back around the edge of the rim. When you get almost to the end it will get tough to if the tire is tight.Use your blunt tool to help it over the edge of the rim. Once the tire is on, make sure the valve stem is pulled up tight and straight before refilling with air. Inspect the tire to make sure it is seated on the rim all the way around on both sides. If not, release air from tube and make adjustments and refill. Replace wheel on bike and enjoy your day!
