How unlock Samsung BD-E5900

The copyright protection seems to be embedded in the firmware and is tied into the whole system. I added a fan to my BD-E5900 and the extra draw of power on the board caused the copyright protection to not allow Blurays to play.

Try the official Samsung support site. There are software upgrades available, as well as manuals, etc.:

Howver, the F5700 is "officially" only a Region 1 player. If you bought it from an odd seller that advertised it otherwise, they either lied to you or have attempted to hack the player themselves (possibly illegally).

SOME manufacturers allow a ONE-time region change (legally).

I do not condone any of the above methods, whether they are legal or not. Most Blu-Ray discs are already region-free, and I don't hack my electronics.

I have just checked the physical layout of the US remote compared to my Aus/NZ model. They look almost identical, except for the button on mine named REPEAT..and on yours named HUB. This is the button immediately below the PAUSE button. Why don't you try the following HACK (which definitely worked me)..but push your HUB button instead of the REPEAT.?. It may work...fingers x'ed. 1. Ensure that there is no disk in the tray. 2. Switch the player off and then back on. This is necessary to clean-boot the firmware. 3. Wait until the main menu page appears and the player stops doing anything. 4. Press the eject button to open the tray. (The button is between the "Power" and "TV Power" buttons at the top of the controller.) 5. Press the eject button to close the tray. 6. Wait while the player searches for a disk. 7. As soon as the "No Disk" message appears at the top right corner do the following. 8. Press the REPEAT button - just above the TV channel selector at the bottom right of the controller. 9. Enter 76884 on the number pad. This is The Code If You Have A Region 4 Player (Other Region Codes Given Below) 10. The region code "4" should appear at the top right corner of the screen.(this just flashed on then off, so keep an eye on the screen) 11. If you see "4" over the top right corner, quickly enter "9" to make the player region free. 12. Power down and power up again. 13. Play a foreign DVD to verify the change. Other Region Codes To Be Used In Step 9 If You Dont Have Region 2 Player Samsung Region Codes 1 - 2 9 3 3 4 2 - 5 7 5 3 8 3 - 5 6 7 3 2 4 - 7 6 8 8 4 5 - 5 3 8 1 4 6 - 2 4 4 6 2 YOu may have to try many times. Hola soy de Mexico y tambien tuve el mismo problema mucho tiempo hasta que encontre la solucion y aqui te dejo paso a paso como hacerlo ;)
PASO A PASO: 1. Asegurate de que no hay ningun disco en la bandeja.
2. Apaga el reproductor y vuelve a encenderlo (Esto es necesario para limpiar-arrancar el firmware)
3. Espera hasta que la pagina del menu principal aparece y el reproductor ya no haga nada.
4. Pulsa el boton de expulsion para abrir la bandeja.
5. Pulsa el boton de expulsion para cerrar la bandeja.
6. Espera a que el reproductor busque un disco y tan pronto como aparezca el mensaje "No hay disco" en la esquina superior izquierda pulsa el boton STOP e Introduce 76884 en el teclado numerico.(NO APARECE NADA CUANDO APRIETAS 'STOP', SOLO PRESIONA LOS NUMEROS ENSEGUIDA)
7. El codigo de region "4" debe aparecer en la esquina superior de la pantalla y en ese instante pulsa "9" para hacer la region free.
8. Apaga y enciende de nuevo el reproductor.
9. Disfruta de tus peliculas :D :D :D
