If it is not, you will need to replace the back up valve. If it appears to be working properly, try adjusting your wheel RPM.

If the RPM is higher than 32, you will need to decrease the water flow. Also, make sure that your feed hose is floating and is not becoming tangled. Keep the cleaner vertical while you are putting it in slowly to let the air out. Ensure the unit sinks to the bottom of the pool.

Check your filter, pump, and debris baskets for excessive waste that could decrease the pool cleaners water flow. Check the hoses, hose connections, and swivels for leaks that could cause loss of water pressure. Check your wheel RPM. If it is below 30, you will need to incease the water pressure. If you have an adjustable return valve, make sure it is open all the way. Also, make sure that your pump is working properly.
