I work from home on some days. I have a desktop and docked Dell laptop that I share the wireless keyboard, mouse, and monitor with. Worked great. My desktop ran XP and my laptop ran XP. My laptop was re-imaged to windows 7 and now the monitor still switches, the mouse switches but the keyboard has issues. I can plug the receive of the keyboard into the laptop directly and it works. But in the switch it'll work until windows 7 boots up. Still works fine when switched to the XP desktop
SOURCE: Problem with KVM switch and Vista
Your problem has nothing to do with the Operating System (Vista), it has something to do with the brand of your computer. I have similar problem before, I have Vista (Dell), but the time I connected another Vista (Sony Vaio), everything worked correctly.
This is what you need to do:
1. You have to make sure that you are using a standard USB keyboard and mouse.
2. Connect first the keyboard and mouse directly to the Vista computer to see if the USB ports of your computer are working properly.
3. You may power cycle the KVM switch by disconnecting it from the computers (including the keyboard and mouse) and leave it disconnected for 2 minutes.
4. Reconnect everything after two minutes and then reboot the computers.
5. Try using different USB keyboard if problem exist after power cycling the KVM switch.

the GCS632U has keyboard and mouse emulation that may not function correctly with docking stations. To ensure the KVM it self is working correctly I would suggest plugging the single USB from the KVM directly into the laptop and see if you have the same keyboard problem. This will at least tell you if the KVM is working properly or not.
