Is the network adapter onboard or an add-on card. if it's an add-on you may have accidently unplugged either the card or the cord when installing. if it's onboard you should go to device manager and see what IRQ's the hard drives and the network adapter are using, they may be conflicting, if that's the case just change one of them to something different.

How to add a 2nd monitor

Most laptops have a VGA port so an external monitor can be added. Then you might have to press a Fn key combination to get the other monitor to display.
If you want to add a second monitor to a Desktop computer, you'll need to install another graphics card. A USB adapter card is available; do a search for different models available.

If neither of these answer your question, please explain exactly what you need a monitor to display from; you posted to the Network and Wireless Adapters section, which is confusing..

I cant connect using my linksys wireless adapter...it was working fine before but when i downloaded LELA in my wired pc, the adapter stopped working thus, my 2nd pc is not connecting to the internet..

  • hard wire the laptop to the router, which reestablishes the connection.
  • set the connection to be wireless
  • follow the prompts and you will soon be wireless again

OS not starting properly

Your hard drive is bad and needs to be replaced. The whole thing about the network adapter is because your computer didn't see the hard drive's boot sector and tried to do a network boot, which you aren't set up for. So you got your error. When you turned that off in the BIOS, you get a partial boot of the hard drive but it reboots because it is bad. You can *try* just re-installing the operating system, but chances are it will stop midway or even get all the way through before rebooting again.

Use second hard drive

The Windows operaring system is on your 1st drive (ie C drive) and if you change it to a slave drive the computer won't work.
You need to set the jumper on the 2nd hard drive as a slave drive and leave the original drive as the master drive expecially if the 2nd drive is on the same IDE controller and cable as the 1st. hard drive.
It doesn't matter if the 2nd drive is set to master or slave if it is on the 2nd controller.
When you boot up you should see both hard drives and can copy files from one drive to another.

Start up problem

hi steve,

can you get into the BIOS?
if so, would u make sure the boot orders are following:
1st. boot from hard drive,
2nd, cd rom
3rd, floppy,
4th, network adaptor?

save changes and try restart.
i hope you do have OS installed.
if not change 2nd part to 1st, and 1st to 2nd.

i have gotten the same error with my laptop. my computer was trying to load window from network, through network adapter.

hope this information helps.

Change from default

I am going to make some assumptions here first is that the hard drive was added to or replaced in your computer by a store or by a friend. Is it possible that the installer altered your network card configuration eliminating the encryption settings required to be set in your computer for your wireless adapter card to connect with the router in your home? If so I would suggest reinstalling encryption in both your wireless router and to your computer for its adapter card as you did initially to get them working. I find it annoying too when service personnel change my computer's settings and do not set them back to their previous settings when they have completed their work.

I hope this helps.
