Featherlite will not start

Weedeater featherlite 1500 blower ran fine until neighbor used it--- said it got hot. Now will not start. I tried squirting some fuel into sparkplug hole which didn't  help. It seems that the plug has some spark (although, may not be enough). With full choke, priming with bulb, and many pulls on starter rope, it does "hit" at all.

when dripping gas into plug hole-it will run a few seconds and stop.

    need help.

I have replaced the spark plug and refreshed the gas in the tank....to be exactly the oil/mix required for two cylcle engines....and when I spray the carborator cleaner into the air inlet(choke)... it works for a little while but to keep it running...I have to keep spaying.

So I will try again next weekend

    Thanks.

Suggest , Clean Spark plug with Gas and wire brush.... drain all gas, add new gas with correct gas:oil mixture..... spray Gumout/Carb cleaner in air intake and spark plug hole.. these are the easy solutions to try.. good luck -Doug

On a featherlite weedeater what's the small green thing that's stuck in the gas cap vent on the inside of cap called???

It is either the tether or the non-return that lets air in, but doesn't let gas out. Most parts are obsolete.

Brand new featherlite weedeater runs hot, no power. Was fine for about 10 minutes. Has fresh 40:1 gas mixture that works fine on my grass blower. Seems like carb is out of adjustment, but of course,...

If it is a solid plug (brass) I would not recommend drilling this out. To my knowledge there is not an adjustment screw behind it. In my 23 years I have yet to drill any plugs from a featherlite trimmer. If there is a screw that can be adjusted it should be visible but may have limiter caps covering them or screws with special heads. Since this an EPA mandate it is suggested you have a qualified technician adjust this for you.

Weedeater featherlite seized shaft

Hello,

If you are talking about your crank shaft being stuck, there is nothing you can do that will work for the long haul. Usually what happens to cause this problem is running straight ( no oil added to fuel) gas to these 2 cylce engines. When you get a "lean seizure', the engine slowly loses power then quits. If you leave it alone for a while, the pull rope will be harder but it will start. The second tome it does this..........well your done. time to buy a new one. Sorry.

I have a featherlite that will not run

Does it have a primer bulb? If so, check it for cracks, also check the fuel lines and the uptake filter in the fuel tank which may be clogged, check all the seals of the carb inder a magnifier to check for dirt or cracks...this is going to sound stupid but are you sure you put the carb back together correctly?
