Take the dryer apart and oil the drum support rollers and the idler pulley. If this does not fix it. Replace the support rollers and the idler pulley. To acces the rollers, take the 2 screws out under the lint filter and then raise the top of the dryer. then remove the 2 screws holding on the front. Take the front off and remove the drum and theres the rollers and the idler pulley. (taking apart the dryer applies to a whirlpool, kenmore, roper, kitchenaid, estate.) If you have another brand let me know i will tell you how to take it apart. (if oiling doesnt fix it your local parts store should have all the parts needed in stock.)

Sounds like I have the same problem, my dryer is a Performa and I noticed that the tops comes off but not sure how to do that. Do I have to take the top off to get to the rollers? Also, if the drum got to hot would that make it squeal? I'm thinking there might have been a crimp in the exhaust hose. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
The lint filter is at the bottom of the dryer. I don't see anyway to loosen the top in the front. The back has two brackets that can be removed and allow the top to be lifted slightly as the wires are connected and don't leave much room. The front is attached with two kind of Screws? can't really see.
Any further advise would be appreciated!!!
