SOURCE: Viking Dishwasher Leaks Into Base

Since this was posted in May I guess it's been fixed but for those of you seeing this problem for the first time, here's one reply:

This sounds exactly like the problem I just found with my DFUD042. There is a small black hose between the base of the tub and a pump motor - part number on the hose is 8072888. The hose has a small **** or crack in it and water is leaking which is most likely the problem causing the symptoms. I had to throw the circuit breaker to get mine to shut off as well.

When I tried to remove the plate it was stuck under the black sound proofing so I had to work around it a bit until it finally came off. Now I just have to find the hose and some clamps.

SOURCE: Dishwasher will not start

you can hold the start atop button down for 5 seconds to re set it or you can turn off the circuit breaker to the dishwasher for 20 sec. That should help. If not, it probably is a bad celenoid which a repairman needs to replace

SOURCE: Viking dish washer won't drain

Try clearing the air gap (which is the seemingly pointless thing that is near your kitchen faucet.)

1.Take off the shiny metal cover, and you can sometimes twist off the plastic cap, or you may need to use needle nose pliers to push in the tabs that hold it in. You may or may not see debris in the tube that is in the air-gap.

2. Now what you need to do is take a clear glass and put it over the air-gap with part of the glass hanging over the edge of the sink, you may want to put a towel around the other side of the glass to keep the water from going all over the counter, turn the dishwasher off then on again and select "rinse and hold". If there is any thing in the line it will come out.

3.If not you may need to take out the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher and on the left hand side in the sump area there is a small, (usually yellow) cap that covers the drain motor impeller that can usually be pulled towards the center/right by hand, if not with needle nose pliers. You will need to vacuum out the water with a wet/dry vacuum or towels.

If none of this works, let me know and I will go over some more uncommon draining problems.

My viking vdb325ss dishwasher runs for a few minutes and then stops with control pad lights blinking. The "normal cycle" and "pots and pans" lights blink together. I have reset and restarted the dis

Hello Peter!

Your owners manual or a call to Viking should help you decode the blinking panel lights. They are not random and are a desperate cry for help from the machine.

It has been my experience (YMMV) that a common dishwasher problem in older machines is accumulated grunge (the technical term) in the water level sensor. In many cases the sensor lives in a plastic container on the side of the DW and although the designers try hard to avoid contamination, the container eventually loads up and intermittently jams the float.

Before I pulled the unit however, I'd check the bottom of the wash cabinet for contaminants. There may be an screen (under a cover plate) that has clogged.

Your situation sounds a bit different, since my Samsung did not pump out water, it just stopped and flashed a code, but who knows? Go for the low-hanging, common issues first.

All the best.

Oh my gosh, repairman made things much worse. Initially I was getting the HUBA disconnect error code on my Viking VDB325ss dishwasher. There was a moldy smell after each cycle, but at least the machine...

actually , call your local viking distributor and request parts to fix the unit and rebuild the dw to a vdb325e, software will remedy your situation. electronics are under a 5 yr parts warranty.

The normal and economy lights are blinking and cannot get to wash through a full cycle. water is in the bottom of the washer

You will have to check if the dishwasher is stuck in the drain cycle or wash cycle.

The normal and economy lights flashing means there is flooding in the unit.

Reset the unit by pressing START button for 4 secs. If the flashing does not stop then you have to call the technician. There may be a leakage which is causing the flood switch to activate.

Green start button won't stop blinking

START/RESET status indicator light flashing

You have pressed the indicator light flashing START/RESET pad while the START/RESET dishwasher is running. This will cancel the cycle. The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains (about 90 seconds).

• Press the pad once to start the dishwasher. Press the pad a second time when the dishwasher is running only if you wish to cancel the cycle.

Power to the dishwasher was turned off while a cycle was running and power has just been restored to the dishwasher. The blinking lights indicate that the dishwasher is draining the potential water inside.

• The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains. A new cycle will start automatically.

Good luck

My dishwasher will not drain

could be a blocked drain or faulty drain pump or faulty controller.

Do you have a model no.
Also confirm if the wash cycle did start correctly and it ran through it according to the time. Does the dishwasher stop in the middle of the cycle or it completes the cycle with lights turning off but water still inside.
Did the drain pump actually run?

Eaton viking dishwasher

it may not be the pump.if it leaks when you run a wash cycle then the pump seal may be bad but if it only leaks when you drain it,it seems that its a drain hose/piping connection.
