It sounds like your belt may have broke or came lose best case scenario. worse case motor is bad.if you turn it on and you can hear the motor coming on its going to be the belt. take off back access panel and take a look . sometimes you can acess it under neath. hope this helps

go to whirlpool.com w/ your model number, and order belt when you get the belt the install instructions will be in there. typically you remove a few screws from the rear of the unit and access the belt. theres a tensioner that needs to be loosened, remove old belt and replace w/ new. hope this helps. please rate the review please accordingly. we did find the problem, in order to fix it thanks alot

The dryer wont heat up the clothes dont get dry everything eles works on it the drum turns ok the timer works also it just wont dry the clothes

Hello,Sam

The usual reason a dryer will heat yet not dry the clothes is going to be a air flow problem. What ya need to check is for a blocked vent and or lint build up in the blower assambly.

By far though a leading cause of that on Maytag dryers is a broken blower wheel and therefore no warm air is being drawnthrough the clothes,to check that remove the front panel and the front drum support and in the lower left corner will be the blower asm. check to see if it moves free and doesnt seem to be attached to the motor shaft.

Hunter, I have A kenmore electric dryer model 110.64121100. My problem is the dryer heats but the drum does not turn. This is a very strange problem. I turned off the timer and heater was still on in the...

Ok check the belt. if broken then make sure the drum turns freel by hand before replacing the bely. Usually dryers wont heat if the motor doesnt go so perhaps the motor is running without a belt. have a look see. Without an inspection its dificult to pin point Good luck

The dryer heats, motor runs but drum doesnt turn.

Could be one of several things. The drum turns by motor and fan belt around the drum. The most common problem is that the fan belt is broken. Check to see that the drum is free and not bound up by frozen bearings. Also that nothing is jamming the drum. If everything seems to be ok --- you need to check the pulley on the motor shaft and be sure it is tight on the shaft . More than likely -- it is a broken belt. I hope this helped.

NO HEAT FRON DRYER , DRUM OK

either your heating element,hi-limit switch, cycling heat switch, thermistor, control panel, or you don't have 240 volts supplying the dryer,120volts will still let the drum turn or the timer count-down, its the way there wired

No heat. Gas valve is on. Drum turns ok, blower works ok, everything else seems to work including other gas appliances

either the flame sensor eye is dirty and not letting the gas valve stay open, your gas solenoid coils,or the control board are defective

Whirlpool dryer WED5530SQ0, heats but does not run

So,. basically your drum doesnt turn. SO your getting heat still even though the drum isnt turning. Is this right? Sounds strange??? Do you hear any humming noise when you push the start button? I need to know a little more about the problem because im kinda confused as how you decribed the problem. Iv never seen a dryer heat but the drum not spinning. especially your model dryer. Its electric heat right? because if the drum doesnt spin, maybe your motor is bad. and if your motor is bad, then your heating element wont heat up because the centrifical switch in the motor is not switching to complete the circuit to the heating element. So this is why im confused when you said" Dryer heats when knob turned but when "push button" pressed, drum doesnt run." Because your belt wraps around the motor pully and the motor is what makes the drum turn. Like i said, i never seen this model dryer heat with out the motor operating. So if you can give me some more info, ill do my best to help you out....Thanks!!!!
