Make sure you have the Exact Drivers for it, If you dont then your computer will not recognize the card properly. It will only have a basic function capability. Suggestion would be to go to the website of the manufacturer and enter into their search engine the name of the card and at the end of that, before stating the search, add the word "drivers" and also parathesis the enter thing to make sure it narrows the search to what you want.

Does your motherboard have an internal video card? if it does, go to system bios and turn it off. it might be a conflict between the internal video card and your AGP card. Lastly, have you uninstall the old video card driver software? before installing your AGP video card. there's a possibility that there's a video driver conflict. If it still doesn't work, it might be a hardware conflict, compatibility or failure.

Good luck,

ATI Radeon x1600 Pro unstable in Dell XPS desktop

If you have the latest drivers installed, try uninstalling them, and going back to the 2nd most recent driver released. Sometimes the latest drivers have issues. Work your way back trying multiple drivers if possible until you find the sweet spot. You might try this website, it has a driver cleaner that removes old drivers. Then try reinstalling the driver of your choice.

Graphic card problem!?

Follow the directions for installation, I found these are the instructions that have applied to several ATI cards. A most important part of the instructions is to uninstall the existing ATI software before installing new software.
