ATI Radeon x1600 Pro unstable in Dell XPS desktop

I recently had to replace the ATI Radeon 9800XT Graphics card that was originally installed in my Del Dimension XPS Generation 2 series desktop. The x1600 Pro has 512M DDR2, AGP 8X . It installed fine and ran well for a few days. Then the dreaded blue screen appeared.I have loaded the latest drivers from ATI. The problem is apparently some kind of a driver conflict (according to the error analysis report from MS). I have not been able to figure out where the conflict is. It will run for random lenghts of time, from minutes to days, but eventually it crashes. Since Dell originally sent me the X1600 as a temporary replacement while they tried to fix the 9800 I assume the card is compatible. Unfortunatly I found another 9800 in the meantime so I never used the 1600 until now, and my warranty is expired so I am on my own.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

If you have the latest drivers installed, try uninstalling them, and going back to the 2nd most recent driver released. Sometimes the latest drivers have issues. Work your way back trying multiple drivers if possible until you find the sweet spot. You might try this website, it has a driver cleaner that removes old drivers. Then try reinstalling the driver of your choice.

My geforce 8200 can not play fifa 11

Your graphics card is below the game minimum requirements (see link below) I would guess that this was a Dell, HP or other, and yours is basically a stripped down card with missing features, less memory etc. (which is why FIFA doesn't work) Your game also requires shader model 3.0, which will be present in all retail video cards on the list below.

From my information source site:
" Please note that NVIDIA GeForce 7300,8100,8200,8300 and 9300, ATI Radeon HD3200, HD4350, and Intel / S3 integrated chipsets are below minimum system requirement ."
http://gamesystemrequirements.com/games.php?id=956

If this is a desktop system, you can upgrade your video card to one of the following chipsets (video card series)
"Recommended Chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce® 6xxx series (6800 or greater) NVIDIA GeForce® 7xxx series NVIDIA GeForce® 8xxx series NVIDIA GeForce® 9xxx series NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 2xx series ATI Radeon X1600 (X1600 or greater) ATI Radeon X1800 ATI Radeon X1900 ATI Radeon X1950 ATI Radeon HD 2xxx series ATI Radeon HD 3xxx series ATI Radeon HD 4xxx series.
If you need help choosing a new video card, please repost your question and include the make (Dell, HP, etc. or white box) and model #. If this is a DIY project then please include as much information as possible about the mainboard, what version of windows, power supply, etc..

Once you know what you need I would check out newegg.com for video cards. They will have what you need at the best prices...

Feel free to contact me directly if you would like continued help with this.

I need to replace a defective ATI Radeon 9800 XT in a Dell XPS. What should I buy?

you can get anything in PCIe If your a mild to moderate gamer or just looking for a replacement I recommend using EVGA brand. I have had very good luck with the nvidia 9800 gts. They are older cards but still have quite a bit of potential. if your a heavy gamer use something nvidia GTX 260 or later they have the newer GPUs.

1-go into safe mood and verify that the card is recognized
2-if you cant enter safe mood for some reason use ati flash just type atiflash -i
3-if you cant boot at all then try using a pci card and check for the cards status

either your power supply is faulty or something in the bios maybe wrong......you should give more info
