This is a long shot but worth trying as it is free:

Disconnect both leads from the battery, contact the two removed leads together (this will diffuse the ECU memory and re-boot the system)
leave for a few minutes then reconnect.
(The above can lose a radio code if applicable)

This can reconfiger the systems and sort out a multitude of issues.

Hope it sorts it out for you.

SOURCE: changed battery in key fob now unable to turn

there will be a combination of button presses required to reconfigure your fob to the immobiliser. you dont need to get it recoded so dont pay for it. try these:
hold the a button down for ten seconds until the light comes on constantly. then press it twice quickly and it will reprogram.
or press lock about ten times, then open ten times. this should work.
i had this problem on a rover and just pressing the buttons loads of times may allow it to be reprogrammed.
also check the battery isnt upside down in the fob.

SOURCE: my Porsche Key fob no longer unlocks the doors

Insert key into door barrel or ignition lock and turn key, whilst doing this press the unlock/lock button, the led on the dash should flash to indicate this has initialised the key to the car, then remove key and test operation of remote. If this fails then a new remote plus coding to the car by your dealership is needed

SOURCE: hi,immobiliser problem?battery went flat,,managed to

Hi it sounds like you have done everything you can do, it now looks like your going to need to get the immobilizer reset, this can be done at most garages but its best if you shop around to see the best price you can get as its not cheap.

have you tried locking the door with the key and then opening it with the key then try the car see if it will work.

failing that its going to need the imob re-programming so that it accepts your key fob, it may just be that you need the fob replacing as the chip inside could have failed they will be able to test all this for you.

let me know if you need further assistance, not that theirs much more i can do without being their with the equipment to test the immobilizer, hopefully it will just be the fob that needs replacing.

you could just try one last thing when you get in the car and put the key in the ignition try holding the fob as close as you can to the ignition barrel as this is where it picks the signal up from so try holding it close to their and see if that then lets you start the car

failing that its going to be a trip to the garage.

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

2007 Hyundai Santa Fe.Fob didn't work. Got locksmith to open. Car won't start. Got new battery. Won't start alarm kept beeping fob wouldn't turn it off. Won't start. disconnected battery. ??

Fob didn't work so the alarm immobiliser was armed and active when the locksmith opened the car - with predictable results.

Fob still not working - broken or needs new battery. Have you fitted a new battery into the fob?

The alarm immobiliser will probably remain armed until the doors have been locked and then unlocked with the fob.

There is a small chance the system can be fooled into thinking it has been disarmed by disconnecting the battery (overnight if poss) and then with the door open and the ignition key in and turned on, when the battery is reconnected it might be possible to start the engine...

2012 Mazda 6 I lost the fob key and battery went dead so replaced battery now alarm won't let me start my car...have another key but no fob how do I shut off alarm so I can start my car

You will probably need to replace the fob as that will contain the code to turn off the alarm and immobiliser. You might have to go to a dealership if it is a factory fitted security system.

01 Xterra dead battery. Tried jump, when I turn key alarm goes off blocks starting. Fobs wont disable/unlock. Only gets power to anti-theft. *Alarm doesnt go off opening door only turning key to start

You could try disconnecting battery, leaving overnight and then inserting ignition key and switching on before reconnecting the battery.

It has sometimes worked for me but in reality it seems you probably have an alarm immobiliser fault you need specialist help with.

Fob still won't work after new battery and nothing wrong with the contact inside, do not hae original code for the Kia sportage 1998 so what is the next best thing ,to do?

When replacing the key fob battery there is no reprogramming required! If the key fob was working prior to the battery replacement then it would point to the contacts not being correct! Remove key fob battery and start again!

2003 Honda civic alarm fob not unlocking car

Usually when you change a Fob battery you have to re-sync it to the car. Some cars have you lock and unlock the drivers door with the key.
Should be in your owner's manual.

My FOB got wet is not working, now i cannot open the door without the alarm going off... i need help

The FOB has got an immobiliser circuit built in. It looks like some water has got in.

It may not work but what I'd try is this. Open the FOB, take out the battery (Small silver disk) put the FOB somewhere warm to dry out thoroughly. (At least 24 hours) Now I'd go and get a new battery while this is going on. Once dry, re-assemble with the new battery.

After trying this, I'd be going to a professional or contacting Isusu for help myself.
