Dorel Juvenile Group manufactures these car seats for under the Cosco brand. You should check out their web site.
There does not seem to be any Manuals on their website, but they do list a phone number. 1-800-544-1108
When I took mine apart I did the following.
I think that is all I did. We washed the cover in COLD water on delicate and soaked it overnight to get it clean. Hang dry!

Peel the cover from around the seat frame so that the shoulder strap hold the cover on to the seat. Extend the set belts to their maximum length and recline the seat as far as possible. Looking at the seat from the front, put your hand in the gap between the reat of the seat (bit that reclines) and the fromt of the fixed base (by the red dome and the instructions). On the bit of the seat that reclines there is a 'door' that opens to reveal a metal clasp that the ends of the shoulder straps fix to at the top and the **** belt at the bottom. Unhook the looks from the shoulder straps from the metal clasp. Pull the shoulder straps through the back of the seat upright. You can now pull them through the cover which is free for you to was. A great design hey ! Good Luck.
