Next time it quits check to see if power is reaching the starter motor. If it is then check /replace the brushes and springs. If no power to starter replace the solenoid or relay.
sounds like ur timing is to far advanced the dragging as u call it is probably due to fuel building up in bores then reliving again when valves are opening ,i would try and rotate distributor as u crank slowly and in small movements ,loosen distributor just enough to turn also when ur turning it try both ways , slowly whilst,.. ur mate turns it over 4 u the reason it seem to drag is the spark goes as ur at..TDC so its trying to push piston down again,........ hope this helps please let me know the resalt
recoil spring has slipped out of the hole.pull your starter rope out of the wind up mechanism, insert the spring latch on both ends and put back into housing. with a piece of 3/4 square stock or something the will fit mthe hole start to wind the mechanism spring up tight. with apair vishgrips lock it down so it does not move. insert your starter rope anr release the visegrips. the springwii recoil and pull the rope in.cut off excess rope. good luck
check the battery cable bypass them with jumper cables that engine uses a lot of amprich to spin it over valve adjustment would change all at once but i set mine to .006 when the opposite valve set the other one
this is one of several drum balancing spring clips and it broke or popped-off. This will for sure make the spin cycle shake the drum very much and spill water. Nedd to open the machine housing and replace/repair the spring.
sounds like spring tension on top of deck is connected to a bolt post, mine broke and went missing with the spring, blades kept slipping, didnt know how to tighten belt,go figure
does this engine have an oil filter? some of the smaller hp models do not and use a flipper system to throw oil on valves if you have a filter , then your oil pump may have run dry and burnt out
You are going to have to check if you bent any valves also,Honda didn't use a non interference head. You can put a new timing belt on and you'll know but this could damage a valve guide and be a waste of time if you have to take it all back apart.Pull the valve cover and loosen all the rocker adjustments(make sure to draw a diagram and note how many turns it takes to back the rocker off, this will make it a whole lot easier to reset the rockers)a badly bent valve is going to show up easily as the spring height will be much shorter than the rest.Measure all the valve spring heights on all 3 valves on each cylider(If I remember correctly there is a third small valve)make notes of the heights and wether its intake, exhaust or jet valve. You'll have to be pretty precise,I'v seen valves bent and show as little as 1/16 of an inch difference in spring height. If there is any difference in spring height your going to need to pull the head and replace the valve(s).If all the spring heights are the same you got really lucky and didn't bend any valves and you can just replace the belt.I checked and if you go to autozone.com and register your car they have a good procedure for replacing the timing belt.Hope this helps.
