Look in owners manual or on glove box door there should be a sticker with your radio code if not you will have to remove radio and get serial number off radio and call your local dealer and they will be able to give you the code from that serial number

My vw polo radio player is stuck at "phone" mode.I took off battery terminals trying to reset it but its still stuck..can you help

Try to reset to factory reset through RESET button on device. Normally it's the POWER button. Press and hold the power button for approximately 10 seconds, your device will reboot.

Keep disconnect the car's battery for a longer period of time to ensure that the radio's memory is fully cleared. Be sure to have the car's security code on hand, as it may be required to reactivate the radio after reconnecting the battery.

If none of these steps work, there may be an issue with the radio's hardware or software that requires professional repair. It's best to have a qualified mechanic or car audio technician diagnose and repair the issue.

Unlock radio with code

kevin's suggested answer is all over the internet

easiest way is to call your local GM dealership and they'll call the 800 number for you since they have a current dealership # to use for that automated service, just as M Trent stated as well

How to fix RBQ radio, disconnected battery now radio does not recognize cd

Hi,

The radio/ cd unit, for your model Jeep, has a built in security code. When disconnecting the the battery it activates the security. The reason for this is to discourage someone stealing the radio, as it renders the unit useless. To re-activate the unit you will have to enter a pin number, which should be supplied with the vehicle when bought from the dealership ( check in your operating manual). If you don't have the pin number, contact your Jeep dealer, who can supply the required pin code. Usually the dealer will re-activate your radio/cd unit free of charge.

Best of luck

Changed battery now radio doesn't work

By disconnecting the battery the radio thinks that it was being stolen so it went into security mode. You will need to re-enter the security code for the radio and it will turn back on. The code may be in the hand book or you can get it from the car dealer as it is on record from the factory unless it is not original

I was having this problem with the Honda radio and I have since replaced it with an after market one. I still have the problem with needing to disconnect the battery for the radio to work for a little...

a new radio?, or used, make and model # , must i guess?
all modes on the radio dead, AM/FM,CD/USB/IPOD jack
ALL, that be the first tests and if all bad that means you lost power.
does the radio scan? show signs its trying? when asked, LCD live? or dead. all i know is the word PROBLEM (vast possible)
did you ask the maker of said radio.
did you follow the new radio's instructions sheet.?

disconnecting the battery, wow !

the radios can have 3 or 4 power pins.
1: Radio power (head end power)
2: dial light (goes to car park dimmer)
3: some have a memory wire, if not connected all programming will be lost. this must go to HOT ALL TIMES line.
4: electric antenna, (it's an output but is power)]

and at least 1 good speaker connected.
and for AM/FM any test antenna or just a wire 12ft long works.
the radio can be bench tests.
1 battery 12v
1 radio
1 speak or 2.
1 antenna. now can test for days like this..... anyone.

How to insert the code for the radio of my golf3 /1996

ENTERING SECURITY CODE

Most vehicles are equipped with Heidelberg V or VI radios that are equipped with a theft protection program. When the battery has been is disconnected or if the radio has been removed, the radio will lock-up electronically and cannot be operated until the security code is entered. On the Heidelberg V, if the proper code is not entered in six attempts, the radio will lock-up permanently and cannot be repaired. On the Heidelberg VI, two incorrect attempts will lock the radio for about 1 hour.
The Heidelberg V may have a code assigned at the factory or a personal code created by the owner. The Hiedelberg VI has a code assigned at the factory and entered by the dealer during pre-delivery inspection. New radios come with the code printed on a sticker but not entered into memory. All codes are 4 digits. To code the radio:
Heidelberg V

  1. Turn the radio ON . The radio should display the word SAF. DO NOT attempt to eject a cassette with the radio in this mode.
  2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold them until the display changes, then release them immediately. The number 1000 will appear for about 3 seconds, then the display will go blank. Release the buttons then.

NOTE If the buttons are held too long, the radio will interpret this as an attempt to enter an incorrect code.
  1. Use the first four station selector buttons to enter the code. The first digit of the code is always 1. Each time the other buttons are pushed, the number in that position will change.
  2. When the code appears correctly in the display, push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time. When the radio plays and displays a frequency, release the buttons.
  3. If the code was entered incorrectly three times, momentarily disconnect the battery and try again. If the code is entered incorrectly three more times, the radio cannot be coded and cannot be repaired.

Heidelberg VI
  1. Turn the radio ON . The radio should display the word SAF. DO NOT attempt to eject a cassette with the radio in this mode.
  2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold them until the display changes, then release them immediately. The number 1000 will appear and remain in the display.

NOTE If the buttons are held too long, the radio will interpret this as an attempt to enter an incorrect code.

  2. When the code appears correctly in the display, push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time. When SAF appears in the display, release the buttons. The radio should play and display a frequency.
  3. If the code was entered incorrectly two times, leave the radio ON for one hour and try again. This can be repeated as often as required.

I disconnected battery and antenna for 2003 acura tl but code wont take

on the TL - 5 digit code for the radio; 4 for navi; numbers are typically on a sticker on the side of the glovebox (nearest radio) or rear truck arm (great security acura?). Need to unplug the antenna and then put in the code, reconnect the antenna and your back in business. search the net to learn how to access the back of the radio. typically needed after power is lost to the vehicle, new battery installed, etc.

I replaced the baterry car and now the radio don't start.solution?

It probably needs a four digit pin number. most car radios will require this security code in case the set is stolen. disconnecting the power supply to the set (Either by stealing a radio or by disconecting your battery) will activate the pin code request. If you are lucky then pin number may written down somwhere in the servicebook. if not, then you need to remove the set and note down the seriel number on the sticker on the casing. (Some people have been known to write the pin number here as well!!) . Your local dealership will be able to provide the pin number if you have the seriel number, but they may charge you.

Hi i have a 1993 mitsubishi 3000 and when i disconnected my battery i went to turn my radio on but it asked me for a pin number but i dont know it,the letters off appear on the radio face i think it was...

You can call the dealer and get the code. If the radio still says CODE you can enter the number with presets 1,2,3,4. If it says off you have to leave the car on for one hour and it will reset back to CODE. The dealer might give you the code over the phone but they may make you come in. If its the original radio they should be able to retrieve the code by your VIN number
