Dont know specifically on the r500 but most laptops have hidden clips at the top of the function keys one on the left and one on the right (use a small flat head screwdriver you can usually see a small hole above the key) which allow you to remove the cover above the top of the keyboard and then its usually a couple of screws to remove the keyboard. dont usually have to remove the s.crews on the base.

How do i take off the front panel assembly on my rca hd52w59

The lower front speaker grille will need to be removed first by removing the screws along the back edge of the rear cover as shown in the pic below. then just pop the lower speaker grille off then you will see the screws along the bottom edge of the front control panel and also on the rear edge again then that panel lifts off but you will need to reach behind as your removing it to unplug the wires that are hooked to both small circuit boards on that panel ( keyboard & aux input boards)1_28_2012_3_47_13_pm.jpg

Need to replace keyboard in HP Pavilion dv6626us Entertainment Notebook PC. thanks

Hi,
Turn the computer off and close the computer lid.
Remove the battery and the AC power supply.

1st we need to remove the switch cover or keyboard bezel. This is plastic strip that runs above the keyboard.

Turn the computer upside down with the front panel towards you.
Remove the three Phillips screws that secure the switch cover to the computer.

Turn the computer display-side up with the front toward you.
Open the computer as far as possible.
Lift the rear edge of the switch cover and swing it forward until it rests on the keyboard.

Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector to which the LED board cable is connected and disconnect the cable from the LED board.
Remove the switch cover.

Now remove the panel directly above the battery compartment and remove the 2 keyboard screws there and another 2 screw in the battery compartment (they should me marked with icons of keyboards)

Turn the computer display-side up with the front panel towards you.
Open the computer as far as possible.
Lift the rear edge of the keyboard until it rests at an angle.
Slide the keyboard back to disengage the tabs on the front edge of the keyboard from the top cover.
Swing the keyboard forward until it rests on the palm rest.

Release the ZIF connector to which the keyboard cable is connected and disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board.

Remove the keyboard.

Just reverse the procedures to replace everything.

Good luck.

Change Bearings for HotPoint WMA62N

Hi, I also have the bearing problem on a hotpoint wma and have just stated the repair job. I have found the following on different forums, so maybe it might help others. You do need to remove the drum and there are two different sizes of bearings 30mm and 35mm. To find the size you need you have to get to the bearings and measure them.
/////////////////
. Ok,Hotpoint wma series drum bearing failure.Firstly very common problem since i work on these things every day-i think there is a design fault-nothing new in this trade! What follows is

the sequence of problems in changing the drum bearings:If the machine has been thrashed into oblivion just changing the oilseal/bearings will have you back to square one within a

couple of months since you would`ve damaged the drum shaft as the bigger bearing of the 2 goes into shapnell mode!So you`d best change the drum shaft(in the trade known as the

spider) however this thing is aluminium usually held onto the the drum via torx headed screws either in steel or soft Al2 also-forget it as your not going to get these out unless your mega

lucky, what we do at work is to replace the whole tank/drum/bearing assembly which comes with a new element and belt ie the whole tank unit, the trade price of this part is less than

£100.00-you can draw your own conclusions as to the retail price as you wish.If you haven`t thrashed the machine you can get away with replacing just the bearings or easier still the rear

half of the tank(trade price 30.00+vat) in which the bearings are already fitted via the factory and reuse the existing spider/drum shaft so long as it isn`t damaged by disintergrated bearing

shapnell.I hope this clears up this problem for you. Please note that this machine`s filter which is at the rear doubles up as the air trap-the oval section 8" long semi transpatent plastic tube

thing-the part that allows the water to compress the air so turning off the level of fill at the right level via the round swt behind the soap dispenser-called the pressure swt-if the filter gets

bunged up the machine o/fills and either overfills or overfills and floods or tries to spin with aload of water still inside the drum or perhaps no spin at all.Hope this helps someone.

/////////////////////////////////////////////

The drum comes out through the front on this one. Take off kick plate and remove screws holding front panel to frame. Take out soap drawer & remove screws behind it. Take off band

holding door seal & peel seal back. Remove 2 screws holding door lock &push lock through. Pull control panel forward at left side & slide to right to remove being careful with board &
wiring. Remove screws holding top end of front then lift slightly &remove front. Remove back panel & take wiring off heating element & pump. Disconnect the pump hose at the drum end,

disconnect the hose from the soap dispenser, note that wiring is fastened to the drum at several points and will need to be disconnected. Remove panel from behind control board then

carefully move everything away from the front of the machine, the drum can now be lifted clear.

Forgot to mention unplugging motor but common sense will prevail.

R60 laptop keyboard removal

Samsung R60 plus laptop keyboard removal

Hi - It's relatively easy!

Remove battery.

Close (but not latch) the lid.

Gently press each hinge cover at the rear of the unit where it meets the base unit (You'll see a joint in the plastic) and get a satisfying click as it lifts. Carefully open the unit almost flat (- careful!) and use a small rounded watchmaker's or preferably similar dimension plastic / wood implement to lift the hinge through the hinge recesses until the switch/indicator plate clicks out at each edge. Then gently use light pressure to remove the rest of the plate away from the keyboard top side. There is a lifting point above the keyboard between the Pause and Insert keys if you need to apply a little extra pressure. There are several moulded clip pieces along the front (keyboard edge of the plate). There are no screws or wired connectors underneath - so lift away. There are two screws underneath the case which hold the keyboard in one either side of the CD/DVD drive locating screw. Turn the machine back over and locate the three plastic lugs in th case at the lower edge of the keyboard. Located near CTRL, Spacebar centre and Down Cursor keys, gently press each one towards the front of the machine with a flat edged implement starting centrally at the same time carefully lifting the keyboard unit. There is a flat ribbon cable connected underneath don't tug it but manouver the keyboard so that you can release it properly.

Job Done!

Replacement is an exact reversal of the removal process - use gentle care and firmly placed pressure to click the various plastic lugs int place.

Now ... about that spilt milk in the keyboard .....!
