What is wrong if it will not idle

I have to pump the gas to start it and hold the gas to keep it runing

It would help to have engine codes but it sounds like leaking injectors hard to start because any time the key is on gas is just running into the engine. No idle to much gas. Oil level high because of gas in oil going past rings could blow oil pan off. High speed fine. replace injector or injectors. Look down throttle body with key on and see if gas is leaking out. If this help someone please rate it

check the oil level ........ no oil pressure the ecu kill the pump may be the oil pump bad ........... if you press the gas pedal littlebit the engine start and keep runing and later on hapen again the idle valve is going bad

if your pumping the gas pedal,your only giving it more air not fuel,the injectors are doing the fuel,what is the temperature there when this happened and was this a cold start or a warm engine start.

Could be as simple as your fuel filter...after the truck starts..can you keep it runing by gunning the motor?

If you can feather the accelerator to keep the motor runing, I'd start at the filter, and then check the fuel pump

Wont stay runing

try pulling the plug out on the idle air control valve then start it if thats not it try the map then the idle control
