Pull gently on door panels(held by plastic screw/clips). Most likely, your window has jumped its holding track. Once you gently remove your clips, you'll see the tracks and place window accordingly. Not sure about electrical though(the least you could do is take a look).
one screw at handle two on arm rest or under switch the rest is plastic retainers just putt and use trim tool or screw driver two bolts hold glass to regulator have to lower window till you see then remove remove bolt that holds front track and slide glass in top and put in track front an back set in regulator and bolt in raise then bolt front track
mine was doing this as well and at advanced auto parts they did not sell just the clips needed to fix it, we had to buy the whole new track which ran around 100 bucks and came with directions to replace it.
the window is off of the track, or the arm broke. you can try to do it yourself. pull the door panel off (may be some bolts near the arm rest and handle, but the rest are clips). from there, you should be able to see if it's on the track or not, and the condition of the arm. if the arm is broken, you might want to take it in.
You have to carefully remove the panel. They are all "snapped" into place. If you have not done this before, it's hard to describe. You may have to remove a lever, I have never done the back panels, just the front ones, but it was not too bad. Use a medium sized screw drive and take your time.
Odds are there is a green / yellow plastic part that has failed. This usually happens on the front ones, but I guess it could on the back ones. This plastic part fails that holds the window in the runners.
Once the panel is off this is easy to fix. You will have to get the part at a dealer and the put back on. There is a metal retaining pin you will have to deal with.
When testing, please be very careful putting the window all the way up. It is amazing how easy it is to break a window if it is not lined up correctly. My friend broke two trying to fix one of his cars (not a Saab).
I have had to fix a front in my wife's 2001 replacing the plastic part.
Power or crank? Either case the rails that hold the window on probably broke. there are slides inside the door that keep the window in place, if a slide broke, or if one of the brackets broke, the window will come down. I cant really recomend doing this yourself as ive had the same issue on other vehicles and pulling apart the door and messing with the slides and stuff in there is a real pain. Hopefully it only fell off the track and you can put it back in place. If not, if your not very handly i would suggest taking to someone.
1. remove door panel, door latch handle and window crank unless it is electric, then remove electric control panel , usually on top of arm rest. 2, Remove insulation sound barrier (plastic sheet) 3.Inspect window for damage. If none is found, notice where the window normally slides up and down in what is called tracks. There is felt material inside the tracks. 4.Also look to see if the window has dropped out of the two crossed arms that have white plastic rollers on them.Be careful handling these arms because they are very sharp. 5. Look for small tabs holding track to door. Usually top and bottom. Loosen these screws slightly until you can move them back widening the distance between both tracks so that you will be able to slide the window back into the tracks. 6.Once the window is back in track, move the loosened track back up so its just touching the window, then retighten the screws. 7. Test window operation. 8. If the window comes off tracks again, window regular is causing problem and should be replaced. Hope this helps. My drivers side quit working. I took the door/window assembly apart and found that a small plastic clip had worn/broken. I modified it to hold the cable securely. The problem I had was knowing how the cables routed in the door and window assembly to put it back together. I found an online picture of a new one and routed my cables per the photo. It has not given me problems since. Time invested, about 3 hours. Cost was $0. If you buy a new one, cost is about $80 (online) and time would be about 2 hours. If you have the $$, buy a new one.
Hello, I have a 2004 Avl. I replaced the driver door window mechanism myself. You need to pry out the electric window controls with a dull blade as to not tear the vinyl. Disconnect the controls carefully. There are small release clips that hold the switch buttons onto the electric base. Then the arm rest, there is a long screw under the armrest. At the front towards the mirror there is a long screw under a round plastic snap cover. I believe it is a small metric bolt. Next grasp the bottom end of the door cover and pull with a sharp snap. Continue around the door panel gently pulling the snaps loose from their base. The door panel cover does not cantain screws only snaps. There is a clear plastic water barrior you need to be careful to peel without tearing and place on a clean flat surface with sticky side up. I had to replace the window track and motor all in one piece, can't just replace track. I purchaces the mechanism on-line parts store.
