I had a problem with one of my cdx drives, I was playing a track an the drive all of a suden stuck in like a fast re-loop mode. I ejected the disk an re-inserted it an the drive would nolonger read the disk. I check with a trouble shooting guide an it recomended that I replace the drive so I did an the new drive wont read a cd either. I am not sure what to do now, If anyone has some info on this please let me know thanks.
Hi, in most cases a new laser drive will fix it but these players tend to have some servo problems,if you havent had it repaired you can send it to us.

Using flash USB drive to play video on Sony Blu Ray DVD player
"The tray is being operated or disc is being read. Cannot perform this operation"
you need to change the default settings on your Sony Blu Ray player.
navigate to
Settings
System Settings
Switch fast startup mode off
this will change the startup time back to "normal" from "fast"
This gives the Blu ray player more time to read your USB flash drive, esp. larger flash drives,
which need more time to register in the memory of the Sony's processor.
These are the system requirements for the M-Audio Fast Track USB input. Be sure that you meet these requirements, or else upgrade your system to meet them.
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS-FAST TRACK HARDWARE
Windows
OS: Windows Vista 32/64 or Windows XP (SP3) Home or Professional
CPU: Pentium 4 2.0GHz, 1 GB RAM, 1 native USB port
Mac
OS: OS X 10.4.11
CPU: G4 (native), 1 GB RAM, 1 native USB port
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS-PRO TOOLS M-POWERED ESSENTIAL HARDWARE
Windows
OS: Windows Vista 32/64 or Windows XP (SP3)
CPU: 1.8GHz multi-core (Intel or AMD), 5400RPM drive, DVD-ROM drive, 4 GB hard drive space (additional space required for loop content)
Mac
OS: OS X 10.5.5 or greater
CPU: 1.8GHz Intel multi-core, 5400RPM drive, DVD-ROM drive, 4 GB hard drive space (additional space required for loop content)
Things to check
1. See if the drive is identified properly in BIOS, if it is not, reseat all cables and try agian.
2. Can you boot to the drive using a bootable CD (XP CD or such) If the drive functions outside Windows, then it is a software issue. If it doesn't boot to bootable media, then you most likely have a hardware issue.
If you can boot to the CD, then try booting to the safe mode, removing the drive from device manager then remove the upper/lower filters in the registry then reboot in to the normal mode.
When the CD/Dvd Drive becomes old the Optical Lense is not strong enought to read DVD because DVD is more dense than CD track. You can Try to clean the lense. There are lense cleaner available on the market.
Hi,
i would try using different cdr recordable media or try a different burner if this dosent help then i would say your laser is at fault or in some cases i have had the servo pcb going faulty on this model.
hope this helps.
regards.
paul.
If you haven't sent it in the You see the four screws Were You put the Cd in at? Take them Out... then There is two tab on the bottom where you pull the drive out but be careful when taking apart
