A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

The screen and pictures are black even in light

Hi,

Please make sure that your camera doesn't have a black cover or tax over the lends. This would block any images from being stored whenever you attempt to take a picture. In other words, the camera wouldn't be able "to see". If you can't find any cover, please check that you've properly inserted an SD card for the camera to use and then switch modes (ie action, night time etc) until you see the area that you're attempting to capture come on the camera screen. Otherwise, you might need to get the camera checked at a store like BH Photo and video.

Thank you.

Will an 8 GB SDHC card work with a kodak easyshare cx6230? We put it in and it says we need to format, but it won't format. Message says to use another card.

These can usually only hold 2 to 4 gig cards. Many only do 2 gigs or less. On the other hand some can handle more memory but only certain brand names.

I can not see image on screen

If you can see the picture before you take it, then the taken picture is black - Camera needs repair at a service shop - aligment.
If you cannot see the picture before you try and take it - The lens shutter is jammed. A repair shop is required. Could be $80 -$200+ depending on parts costs and labour.
These are only probable answers.

All of a sudden I could not take photo's in bright light

I?m confused to the model of your camera since you have listed the problem under KODAK ONE, but write C813 in the problem description. However I hope it is a KODAK C813 since there is no firmware available for KODAK One. KODAK C813 solution: Please try to upload new firmware: I hope that it will solve the issue, the alternative is a repair. Connect the camera with the computer. Turn the camera on. Click onto the link and follow the instructions. http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=11888/11893&product=EKN034495

Hi Greg, Its not on the settings., Here the thing you need to Do

Turn Off the camera, remove the memory card then Turn On the camera and go to auto mode or smart scene., now if yu see black screen check the Lens is yur lens has cover or check if the Lens protracted. Now if the Lens has no cover and protracted thats good it means theres no problem on the lens., Now press Menu Button, If the options did not display it means LCD or screen is already defective. you can also press review button.,

My son mistakenly deleted his pics from his Kodak EasyShare M1033. Is there any way to retrieve them?

Yes, but you will need to purchase a "Rescue" program such as Rescue - Pro, this enables you to search a camera memory card, and retrieve the last images taken.  Beware however that if your son has taken more photos after the ones he deleted then the "Rescue" software may have trouble.
The best option is to withdraw the camera card from use until you have used the "Rescue" software, to prevent corruption to the image files. These programs are available for down load off the web, at very reasonable prices, or maybe available when purchased with a high end memory card, such as San Disk Extreme IV Series Cards.
Hope this helps Ian
